Eugene let out a sigh as the door closed in his face.

"You're doing the right thing," Edmund said. "I'm going to get the rope and we'll destroy the Moonstone."

"Yeah, ok." He sighed as he sat down as Edmund left. He picked up his old wanted posters that was scattered across the ground.

Eugene: I thought I was an outcast
I thought I stood alone
A rogue, a thief, a joker
No place to call my own
I thought no one could love me
And how could I have known
I was wrong, Oh so wrong

And then I thought I found it
A dream that I could share
I thought I was so lucky
It almost wasn't fair
I thought I knew my purpose
I thought that I knew where I belong
But I was wrong

Everything I ever thought I knew
Where I've been, where I'm going
Everything I counted on
Turned out to be untrue
Could've guessed should've known
Now I do

Everything I've yearned for
Everything I planned
All my sweetest memories
Were castles made of sand
Now that it's all crumbling,
Help me understand
If none of it was really me,
then who am I supposed to be

And everything I ever thought I knew
Every hope, every feeling
Love and trust and happiness
They're done, they're gone,
they're through
And what's left? Me alone
Once again, should have known
Now I do

I guess my life meant nothing
I guess it was a sham
I guess I'm someone else now
I wonder who I am

Eugene sat on the rock. Suddenly, the ceiling caved in, the whole gang fell in a pile in front of him. He yelped in surprise, jumping back.

"Ha! Take that, Adira! I can too get in this way!" Varian muttered. He pulled himself up, along with the others. Adira and Quirin jumped down landing on their feet.

"I said I recommended that you didn't come in this way," Adira corrected. "But, I suppose it was faster. The Moonstone is just beyond those doors."

"Eugene!" Rapunzel ran over to her boyfriend. "Why didn't you let us in? What happened?"

"Uh... It's a long story, but the Moonstone is dangerous-"

"We know that," Varian said.

"But the last time someone tried to go near it, my mother died," Eugene insisted.

"What?"

"I didn't let you in because I knew you would stop me from trying to destroy it. But I can't let you or Varian near it."

"Eugene, destroying it could just be as dangerous to Varian," Rapunzel said.

He paused, thinking about it. "You're right... I really did not think this through... I'm so sorry," Eugene apologized. Rapunzel merely wrapped him in a hug.

"I got the rope-" Edmund stopped in his tracks.

"Sorry, we'll pay for the roof," Rapunzel offered.

Edmund pulled out his sword. "I cannot let any of you take a step further."

"Edmund-" Adira began.

"I have nothing to say to you, Adira!" He huffed.

"Your majesty, please. The MoonStone knows I'm close. I have to go," Varian said. "We've come so far-"

"No!" Edmund retorted. "No one may enter that room."

"I'm sorry, but I've come too far to let you stand in my way. Please, for the love of everything, let me through. We were led here for a reason," Varian insisted.
