Thoughts in the shower are something else, probably because life is really taking me into a nose dive these days, engine is on fire, mind bent and no idea what to do and where to go! Yesterday this thought occurred to me that when we ask for the right to equality does it occur to us that equality is not just black or white, it has an ecosystem of its own, it has its own creatures and floras and faunas, deep interconnections and a web of rights and responsibilities that are covered under the universe of equality and it is further connected to vast universes of freedom, justice, rights and duties. It occurred to me that when we ask for equality we are afraid to embrace it as a whole or worse we are ignorant of its true nature (as we are of many things in life). For example, ' I ask for equality of choice among men and women' but do we want all the choices good and bad? when the time comes and we are equally asked as men or women to make a choice are we sure we will not delegate it further or pass the burden or responsibility of that choice on to someone else?
' I want him to accept me as who i am' Do you? Oh now that is something ! so dear would you accept him as who he is? No. No. Absolutely not, no matter what we say we will try to change him so that it better suits us. We want to be treated as equal and we want to always be nice, we want that we always get rewarded for our good choices and our bad choices are forgiven if we dare make any! Equality is that plate of combo in a diner that you order because you just love parts of the combo but you have to order the whole anyway because of the best prices, or the portion size, etc. etc. but you cannot throw away the rest of the food like in western movies. In the hypothetical plate of equality, you must receive the whole or deny the whole because as you take your first bite of equality you are tied to all that it brings with it, or more like you have now set foot inside that universe of equality and you shall not leave until you find a new universe devoid of all that you wanted and not before you pay all your debts. After all as they say there is no such thing as a free lunch!Author's Note: Editing shall be done on preferential basis. Patience is key.
