Calm before the storm

As the dark continued to close in, goose bumps began to form on your arms as a cold shudder spread across your body. Wandering around, you find an old wooden porch swing which seems to be held up by two chains floating in mid-air. You called out in an attempt to find somebody, but all you heard was a faint creaking of the metal links scraping together.

Choosing to sit down, you begin to shiver at the glacial breeze that was flowing over you as the silence drew out for what felt like an eternity, "Fuck Eli, what did you do" you ask yourself as the reality of the situation hit you.

Suddenly, your chest became enveloped in a soothing warmth, banishing away the icy feeling that had begun to overwhelm you, provoking you to slowly wake.

Unfurling your eyes, you find yourself led on a sofa with Loona cuddled up against you, the soft light from the setting sun creeping through an open window. You nuzzle between her ears and wrap your arms around her chest, pulling her closer, "You're a fucking idiot" she sighed without moving.

You could tell she had been an emotional wreck since you blacked out. You held her tighter and exhaled, "I know, I'm sorry"

"Who knows what he had loaded into that thing" she noted.

"Rather it be me than you" you retort.

Conceding that you weren't going to budge on the subject, she sighed, "Thank you, Eli" She rapidly turned to face you, "But if you do something like that again, I'll fucking bite you, hard" She grinned before kissing you on the cheek and clambering off of you.

You chuckled before attempting to follow, but the slow aching in your shoulder forced you back down, "How long have I been out?"

Noticing your struggle, she cautiously began to help you onto your feet, "Mmm, about an hour now"

"Guess every ones a bit upset with me huh?" you groan, expecting a long-winded lecture.

She tilted her head slightly, "Nope, Blitzø and Fatty actually feel guilty about what happened"

You furrowed your brow in confusion, "Why, wasn't their fault"

"Well, they did put themselves into that situation"

"I mean, we did burst into the room and knock Mox on his ass"

She pushed her mouth to the side in thought, "Hmm, I guess, are you okay to walk by yourself, I just need to grab something?"

"It's only my shoulder, I'll live" You casually reply while continuing to exit the living room, the uncomfortable pain returning as you leave her line of sight.

As you open the front door, you begin to hear the muffled voices of Lin and Millie arguing on the other side, "I can't believe you let him trap you, Millie, didn't we teach you better than that?" She paused her lecture, noticing you'd exited the house, "You're very lucky Eli"

You gave Loona a questioning look as she exited through the doorway before turning back to Lin, "How so, he'd need angel rounds to even get close to killing me with one?"

"Good thing he didn't have them loaded then" Blitzø called out. You expressed physical confusion compelling him to explain, "We found bullets with both of your names on them in Striker's room, clearly if you two became a problem... he would take matters into his own hands"

"Still would have blocked it" you mumble under your breath.

"Maybe if someone didn't get captured, this wouldn't have been an issue," Lin remarked sarcastically.

Millie immediately retorted, "I was seein' red ma, and he was slippery!"

"Excuses, you're better than that Mildred" she continued.
