The Monster of the Cave

With some travel, Yukiko and the group found themselves at an old cottage.

"Hey, I heard of this place. The Dwarfs used to live here at one point until sometime ago, they left for some reason." Deuce said.

"If that's their cottage, we're on the right trail." Ace said as they continued on to the mine.

"But won't it be dark in the cave?" Deuce asked.

"I got that covered." Yukiko said as she took out two pokeballs. "Gliscor, Golbat, we'll need your help!" And the two nocturnal pokemon appeared.

One looked like Its legs have two toes and a slightly darker circular coloration on the underside, and its tail has two barbs, giving its tail the resemblance of a vampire's fangs. Its arms are red with thin striations and are completely detached from its black wings, and each is ended with large pincers. Its ears have discernible, red, chambered ear insides, and its eyes are yellow. It has six visible fangs in its mouth, and its waist, like its arms, is red and striated.

The other was a large, blue, chiropteran Pokémon with purple wing membranes. It has small eyes with slit-like pupils, along with tiny triangular ears with purple insides, and a massive mouth with two fangs in each jaw.

"Whoa! What kind of familiars are those?!" Ace shouted as Deuce stood next to him just as surprised.

"Roto?" Yukiko said as Rotomdex appeared from her bag.

Got it, Roto!" Rotomdex said as he showed the data for Gliscor and Golbat.

"Golbat, the Bat Pokemon and the Evolved form of Zubat. It loves to drink other creatures’ blood. It’s said that if it finds others of its kind going hungry, it sometimes shares the blood it’s gathered. Its feet are tiny, but this Pokémon walks skillfully. It sneaks up on sleeping prey before sinking in its fangs and slurping up blood.

Gliscor the Fang Scorp Pokemon and the Evolved form of Gligar. Its flight is soundless. It uses its lengthy tail to carry off its prey... Then its elongated fangs do the rest. It observes prey while hanging inverted from branches. When the chance presents itself, Gliscor swoops!"

Grim, Ace and Deuce looked frightened by that information.

"Hey, they are not gonna suck our blood are they?!" Ace asked.

"That's only with wild Golbat and Gliscor. Mine are tame, and they eat pokemon food and berries, not blood. Besides, since they are nocturnal, they can navigate the caves." Yukiko assured them as they made it to the mine.

"So what exactly are we looking for? What does the crystal look like?" Yukiko asked.

"It should be multicolored, and bright, so it should be easy to spot." Deuce explained. 

As they progress into the mine, Grim spotted something glittering.

"Hey, that over there! Is that what we are looking for?" Grim asked.

The object was a glittering multicolored stone.

"Yeah! That's it!" Ace cheered as he went to grab it.

".........Leave........"

"Huh? Did you guys say anything?" Grim asked as everyone replied 'no'.

Then a roar erupted in the cave and they saw a strange monster.

"What is that?!" Deuce exclaimed in shock.

Gliscor and Golbat countered the creature with Dark Pulse and Venoshock which made the creature screech in pain.

"Aaaahhh! Thieves go away!" It said as it tried to attack.

"Gardevoir, Protect!" Yukiko said as she had The Embrace Pokemon conjured a green shield protecting the group.

"Geez, what is this creature doing in the cave?!" Ace shouted.

After a few attacks, the creature got a hit in with Golbat.

"Golbat!" Yukiko cried in worry.

While Ace and Deuce argued whether to give up or not, Yukiko focused on Golbat who was struggling to get up.

"Golbat, please get up! I'm not leaving without you, because I believe in you, like every one of my pokemon!"

At that, Golbat suddenly had a new vigor, and began to glow a vibrating blue color.

"What?!"
"The"
"Heck?!" Grim, Deuce and Ace said as they saw Golbat changing until the light vanished and a large purple bat creature took its place.

"Alright! Golbat evolved!"
"Pachirisu!" Pachi cheered.

"Evolved?"

"I'll explain later. Right now, we need to end this. Come out Charizard. Empoleon, we need you too! Get ready!" She told her Pokemon and they nodded.

"Time for a combination effort. Gardevoir, Hold it down with Psychic as long as you can!" Gardevoir nodded using her power to halt the creature keeping from moving.

"Alright. Ace, Deuce, Grim, you guys use your strongest magic too. Pachirisu, Thunderbolt! Empoleon, Hydro Pump! Charizard, Flamethrower! Gliscor, Sludge Bomb!"

The four pokemon gave their barrage of attacks as Ace used his best wind magic and Deuce summoned the heaviest cauldron he could.

The creature yelled in pain as it took a beating, falling to its knees.

"Now for the finisher! Crobat!" Yukiko said as she activated her Z Bracelet and Crobat nodded.

Yukiko began moving in tune with Crobat as the Bat Pokemon gained Z power.

"Take to the sky as our power goes beyond the limt to shatter even the atmosphere! Crobat, Supersonic Skystrike!"

Crobat gained an unimaginable speed and striking down the monster into the ground.

The monster screeched in pain one last time before it melted and disappeared.

"We....won?" Ace asked.

"We won." Deuce confirmed.

"We won!" Grim cheered as Ace and Deuce cheered as well.

Then Grim caught a whiff of something, and found a black stone......and actually ate it!

"Delicious!" Grim said. "It's like flowers in my mouth, rich and full bodied too!"

"I guess monsters have different tastes than humans do..." Ace said. "But, what happened to Golbat? He's different now."

"She."

"Huh?"

"My Crobat is a girl. She Evolved. He's now Crobat." Yukiko said as Rotomdex showed the entry.

"Crobat, the Bat Pokemon and the Evolved form of Golbat. It evolves when it's affection for its Trainer is high. Both of its legs have turned into wings. Without a sound, Crobat flies swiftly toward its prey and sinks its fangs into the nape of its target’s neck. This Pokémon flaps its four wings skillfully. Crobat can fly through cramped caves without needing to slow down. Having four wings enables it to fly faster and more quietly. It turns active when the night comes."

"Wow, that's cool!" Ace said.

"Anyway, that creature is beaten. Let's get that crystal and return to the headmaster!" Deuce said as they only had an hour left before sundown.

"I got a faster way. Charizard, Gliscor, Crobat, can you give us a ride? Oh I should advise you guys, Charizard only let's me ride him." Yukiko said as she returned Gardevoir and Empoleon.

"I'll take Gliscor I guess." Ace said.

"So I have Crobat." Deuce said as the boys mounted on the pokemon and Grim tagged along with Yukiko on Charizard with her leading the way.
