⚠︎ - child death, mention of family member death, blood

once the young cookies were in the snow field, they could hardly see anything around them. there was white everywhere, and they could hear the faint sounds of someone crying in the distance. they decided to follow the sounds, but they were coming from somewhere far away. once they finally reached the source, they saw a large snow figure with two eyes and a snow mustache. in the ground next to the figure, they saw a young cookie wearing blue winter clothes. they were holding a strange wand and was laying in a hole in the snow. their face was red and covered with tears.
"hello... are you okay?" GingerBrave asked.
"n-no... it's... too cold... m-my home is so far..." they responded.
the group looked around in search for a warm place, but there wasn't any.
"where is your home?" asked GingerBright.
"i-in the city, but... i-i like it here... t-too much..." they responded.
"well, you can probably come with us! we'll probably be heading to a warm place soon!"
"i can't..."
the group sat next to the young cookie and felt their temperature. they were freezing cold.
"i-i... the Great Snow King... d-didn't know what to do, either... h-he tried to warm me up, but... of course it didn't work..." they said.
"i'm very sorry..." GingerBright hugged the cookie, but her warmth didn't have very much effect and it started to make her colder.
"i-i'm sorry... you had to see this... i-i miss my home... but... i-i'll soon be in heaven... with the Great... Snow King..." they said.
"we'll surely find a way to get you out of here!" said GingerBrave as he attempted to pick up the cookie.
"i-it's fine... i'm expecting... to die... G... Ginger... Brave...?"
"how do you know my name?"
"D-Dozer... said it... i think..."
GingerBrave was reminded of his brother. he was such a kind person who always offered to help others, but now he was dead. he was killed by a strange lollipop, and it all happened so suddenly. thinking about his brother's death made his heart hurt, but he wasn't going to stall when there was a dying child right in front of him.
"we'll find a way to get you out of here, no matter what" GingerBrave said with determination.
"please don't...! i-i'm... fine..." they responded. it was getting harder for them to talk.
their refusal to get help made GingerBrave feel bad, but he wasn't going to force anyone to do something they didn't want to.
"what's... your name?" he finally asked.
"o-oh... my name...? S... Snow... Su... gar..."
they stopped moving.

GingerBright put her hand on her friend's shoulder. "sorry, GingerBrave... i know it must be hard watching people die right in front of you."
"it's fine..."
suddenly, the cookies heard a loud roar from far away. they looked around the snow field and saw a big snowball rolling. luckily, it wasn't rolling towards them, but towards a power line. the snowball hit the bottom of the power line and broke it, making it fall. the cookies quickly moved out of the way to not get hit, but they couldn't move Snow Sugar out of the way. the bars of the power line quickly impaled their stomach, ripping it open and causing blood to splatter around them. the sight made the other cookies wince, and they looked over to see a different cookie. he was wearing dark blue clothes, a white scarf, and was carrying a wand. he waved it and held it towards a white figure that was far away in the snow. once he did that, the tall figure sat down and appeared to sleep. the cookie then looked at the group and walked towards them.
"phew! if i didn't do that, you guys would've been toast" he said.
"that was awesome! did you use magic?" asked GingerBrave.
"of course i did! magic is the only way we could've stopped Thundersnow Yeti."
"so that's what that was..." Strawberry said quietly.
"well, i'm glad you did! thank you, uhh... what's your name?" GingerBrave asked.
"isn't it obvious? i'm Wizard!" he responded.
"thanks, Wizard! now, do you have any clues about a cookie paradise? we're trying to find one."
"well, there is this one place... but i wouldn't really describe it as a paradise."
"oh! remember what Kumiho said back at the amusement park? there's a kingdom around here, and it's right there!" GingerBright interjected, pointing at a beautifully decorated castle.
"oh, right! let's go there! wanna come with us, Wizard?" GingerBrave asked.
"no, thanks. there's... other business i need to attend to" Wizard responded.
"okay, i understand. bye, Wizard! bye, Snow Sugar..."
with that, the young cookies left the snow field and headed towards the beautiful kingdom.

note: another chapter done! by the way, i don't hate Snow Sugar since i killed them in the same chapter where they met them (just like Dozer, but i like him less). i just had a death planned for them and wanted to use it. and yes, the title is a Deltarune reference. i had to choose between that and Ice Cream Mountain, and i liked that better. i'm excited to write Milk in the next chapter!
