⚠︎ - fire, dead bodies, mention of blood, mild swearing

GingerBrave was dreaming. it was a cloudy day. a dark force came to the village he lived in, and other cookies were forced to flee their homes and the shops they worked at. a familiar cookie ran towards him and pulled him by the arm to a nearby forest. the forest was dark and he could hear quiet growls all around him, which made him scared. suddenly, a large dog that resembled a strawberry cake jumped out of the trees in front of the two cookies. they started running away, but the dog was faster than them and ate them.

and then, he woke up.

once GingerBrave opened his eyes, he saw a black roof with some sort of red hue. he sat up to see that there was fire all around him. dead cookies surrounded him as well, and he felt like he had to get out. he saw a window to the outside in front of him and ran towards it. he rattled it a bit, but it didn't open. he looked up to see a latch at the top of it, so he tried to reach it. he was unlucky since he was too short to reach it, but he felt a cookie come up behind him and lift him up off the ground. he was then able to reach it, so he unlocked it which made the door fall open. the few cookies in the oven were finally free. GingerBrave felt proud of himself for doing something good to help others, and he ran out of there. once he was about to step off of the door, he heard another cookie yelling for help.
"help...! i tripped...! it's... burning!" she yelled.
GingerBrave ran back towards the cookie, who seemed to be having a hard time getting up from her fall. he held out his hand to her and she grabbed it, pulling herself up. she had brown hair and was wearing a uniform with different shades of brown on it, similar to him. in fact, they almost looked like they could be twins.
"thank you... what's your name?" she asked.
"i'm GingerBrave! and you?"
"what a fitting name! i'm GingerBright!"
"i think that name fits you too! now, let's get out of here. there's a big world waiting for us, and there's no way we're staying here."
"right!"
the two cookies headed out of the oven to see another cookie, who had brown hair and was wearing a long, blue shirt.
"shh...!" he said.
"what? why?" GingerBright asked.
"she might come..."
"who?"
"the witch!"
"what witch? there's no witch!"
"yep! i'd say it's safe to get out of here!" GingerBrave said.
"alright, alright... where's Strawberry?" the cookie in the blue shirt asked.
"i'm right here..."
just then, a small cookie in a pink hoodie walked out from behind a jar. she had brown hair as well and round, light pink eyes.
"aww... you're so cute!" GingerBright said with excitement.
"hello... who are you guys?"
"i'm GingerBright! it's very nice to meet you!"
"and i'm GingerBrave! we were just about to escape this place."
"then let's do it together!" said the cookie in blue.
"i found some things that seemed useful for you guys... take a look!" Strawberry said, walking towards the jar she hid behind. inside was a candy cane, a skateboard, a pink lollipop, and a pink sucker. the cookies all grabbed something and took a look at it.
"wow! this looks pretty cool!" GingerBright said, looking at the pink lollipop.
"we can use these whenever we're in danger!" GingerBrave said, swinging the candy cane around.
"yeah! i can go even faster now!" the cookie in blue said, making the skateboard move.
"i'm glad you like them!" said Strawberry, putting the pink sucker in her backpack.
"but... what if they break?" GingerBright asked with concern in her voice.
"yeah, these do seem pretty fragile..." the cookie in blue said.
"hopefully we don't wear them out or break them!" GingerBrave said.
just then, GingerBrave began to feel weird. the situation he was in all seemed quite familiar, but he just couldn't figure out how. he tried to remember situations like this, but he couldn't grasp anything.
"GingerBrave... are you okay? you look worried..." Strawberry asked, which made GingerBrave snap out of his thinking.
"yeah, i'm fine! anyway, let's get out of here! i'm determined to search for a paradise of our own!"
"like... a cookie paradise?" GingerBright asked.
"of course! let's go!"

the four cookies ran towards the open window and jumped out. they landed in what appeared to be a backyard. the impact of the fall hurt them all.
"ow..." GingerBrave said quietly.
"i-is everyone okay?" GingerBright asked.
"yep! i'm fine" the cookie in blue said.
"i'm okay..." Strawberry said.
"so... where to from here?"
"uhh... over there!"
Strawberry pointed to a nearby cabbage patch, where they saw two legs moving.
"they look stuck... let's go help them!" GingerBright said, running towards the cabbage patch.
"be careful, please..."
GingerBright got inside the cabbage patch and tried pulling the two legs out, but she was unsuccessful.
"it's heavy..." she sighed.
"raagh...?"
"huh?"
the pair of legs started kicking more, and the cookie they belonged to climbed out of the cabbage patch. they looked around.
"aah... coo... kie...?" they moaned.
"hello! what's your name?" GingerBright asked.
"coo... cookie...! Zom... bie...!"
"Zombie? nice to meet you, Zombie! i'm GingerBright! we should come out here now. my friends are here too!"
"moore... cookies...!"
Zombie was excited to see the others and ran up to hug them, but was gently pushed back by Strawberry.
"your forehead is a little bloody..." she said.
"blood... brain...! part... of Zombie... maaugh..." Zombie moaned.
"you wanted to get to know us, right?" GingerBrave asked.
"yeaaaah!"
"well, i'm GingerBrave!"
"Strawberry..."
"you can all call me Skater!" said the cookie in blue.
"wow! we finally know your name!" GingerBrave commented.
"did you just decide that after getting your skateboard, or...?" GingerBright asked quietly.
"i'm actually a skilled skater!" Skater told her.
"...impressive!"
"well, it's nice to get to know another cookie! we were just about to set off on a journey to find a cookie paradise!" GingerBrave said.
"para... dise...?" Zombie asked.
"yeah! a place where cookies like us can live in peace and harmony!"
"good...? no... great...!"
"that's the spirit! let's go!"
"hey, GingerBrave? it looks like the house is burning..." GingerBright said sounding a little disappointed.
"what!?"
GingerBrave quickly turned around to see that the house they escape from was engulfed in flames. the roof looked like it was just about to collapse.
"well, it doesn't really matter. i have little sympathy for whoever lives there" Skater commented.
"i wonder why anyone would live in that small of a house!" GingerBright said.
"probably some dumbass... let's go!" GingerBrave said.
the group of cookies then left the house and the cabbage patch behind and stepped into the outside world in order to search for a cookie paradise.

note: i'm sorry this chapter took a while to get out. i'm honestly more excited for the later chapters than the chapters i'm gonna work on sooner. also, the characters have different outfits than in Part 1, which explains why GingerBright is wearing more of a school uniform and Skater has a blue shirt. i might post their new outfits in the Extras book when i get the time. now then, i hope you enjoy the next chapter!
