Cookie Run: HeartBreak.

⚠︎ Dreadful Cookieland

⚠︎ - child death, blood, fire, mild swearing, sentences in all caps, mention of smoke, mention of bomb, burnt corpses, mention of shooters

the cookies saw the corpse of a child face-down on the ground. her red clothes were burnt and bloody, as well as her hair. they saw red scraps around the body, and the grass next to it was starting to catch fire as well.
"oh, no... who would do such a thing...?" Walnut asked, frightened.
"it looks like it was something, actually" said Skater.
"hmm... is there any way we can put this fire out? it might burn more of the stands..." GingerBrave said.
"i believe the only water stand is near the entrance" Walnut said.
"well, damn it!" said Skater.
"what... about... the others...?" Zombie asked.
"you mean GingerBright and Strawberry?" GingerBrave asked.
Zombie nodded.
"we should find them before things get worse...!"
the four cookies ran to go look for their friends, and they found them eating different candies with Apple and Cream Unicorn.
"i love candy apples!" said Apple.
"i'm a fan of cotton candy" said Cream Unicorn.
"i like chocolates!" Strawberry said.
"well, i like all sorts of candy!" GingerBright said.
"GingerBright! Strawberry!" GingerBrave shouted.
"hello, guys! what's with the worried faces?"
"it's bad... something terrible happened...!"
"hmm? terrible things happening at Cookieland? it doesn't sound real to me..." Cream Unicorn commented.
"oh, gosh! over there!" Apple said, pointing to the burning stand. the fire was spreading to other stands at this point.
"oh, dear... oh, no...! how do we fix this...?"
"we have to go to the balloon stand! i need one big, final balloon before i perish."
"that won't happen, silly!"
Apple quickly ran to where the balloon stand was, which was away from the spreading fire and the others ran after her.
"Aloe! i need a big balloon right now! the biggest you have!" she said.
"what's got you in a panic?" Aloe asked.
"the theme park! it's BURNING!"
"oh, no... everything is going to be fine. evacuate with your friends if you need to."
"i don't need to yet. i need a huge balloon!"
"alright, then..."
Aloe started blowing helium into a big, colorful balloon while GingerBrave and his friends waited. they saw Pancake running up to the group with tears in his eyes.
"guys... it's burning..." he said.
"we're aware..." Strawberry said.
"no... you have to come see...! they're dead... they're all dead...!"
"who's dead...?" Apple asked.
"uhh... Chestnut, Pudding... Cherry... Gumball... Devil... Soda...? i can't name them all...!"
"don't panic, Pancake. we'll get to the bottom of this" Walnut said.
"why are you guys here then?"
"i wanted a big fat balloon! oh, it's almost done" Apple said.
"here you go, Apple! just... be very careful with it" Aloe said.
"i know!"
Apple grabbed the balloon string and ran to an open space. she held it out, and started to float.
"uhh... this isn't my magic. the balloon is heavier than you" Cream Unicorn said.
she started going higher into the air to the point where the tallest cookies in the group couldn't reach her.
"Apple, hang on!" Pancake said, spreading out his animal suit.
"what are you trying to do...?" Strawberry asked.
"i'm gonna fly! watch me!"
"i... don't think that's gonna work very well" GingerBright commented.
"shut up, GingerBright!"
Apple was almost out of sight at this point, and they couldn't do anything about it. Cream Unicorn transformed into a unicorn to try and reach her, but she stumbled and fell on the ground.
"i'm worried..." she said quietly.
just then, they heard Firecracker yelling from a distance.
"i used up all the water... BUT IT'S STILL BURNING!" they cried.
"it's getting concerning... we should probably evacuate soon" said Piñata.
"guys, there you are!" GingerBrave said, running up to them.
"the arcade was smoking! and we went out here to go play, but there was fire..." Firecracker said.
"it's spreading very quickly..." Skater said.
"but... aren't you like, a fire person?" GingerBrave asked.
"NOT THIS TYPE! this is freakin' terrifying...!" Firecracker responded.
"wait... wasn't there a girl with a bomb while we were on the train?" Strawberry asked.
"yeah, i believe so!" GingerBright responded.
"could it be her that caused this...?"
"oh, what did she look like?" Pancake asked.
"she was wearing red... and she was throwing a bomb at her friend."
"yep! that's Cherry."
"we saw her burning corpse on the ground behind a stand. it was... pretty unnerving" GingerBrave said.
"i bet..."
"what happened to Apple?" Skater asked.
"oh, right... she flew towards the sky and none of us could reach her" Strawberry said.
"up... there...!" Zombie said, pointing at a falling body that appeared to be Apple.
"hurry! we should catch her!" GingerBright said, running to try and position herself in order to catch her.
"i'll help!" Strawberry said, running and holding her arms out.
"wait... NO!"
Strawberry caught Apple, but she screamed when she saw what was left of her. parts of her body were burnt, and her arms were bloody and slightly opened.
"dear god..." GingerBright whispered.
"Apple... APPLE...!" Pancake cried.
"what happened to he- NOOOO!" Firecracker said.
"oh, no... this is terrible...!" Cream Unicorn said.
"i knew something like this would happen..." GingerBrave whispered.
"i say we need to evacuate" Skater said.
"not yet! the carousel is still spinning..." Cream Unicorn said.
"why does that matter...?"
"it's the staple of Cookieland, because i'm the creator. if it stops spinning, then... i'll die. i'm already losing my will to live, anyway..."
"how about... we ride it one last time? all of us...?" Pancake asked.
"...i'm in" GingerBrave said.
"me too..." Strawberry said, getting Apple's body off of her. she had some blood stains on her hoodie.
"i am" GingerBright said.
"yes..." Skater said.
Zombie raised their hand.
"i'm going too..." Walnut said.
"you know i'm in" Firecracker said.
"i wouldn't miss this..." Piñata said.
"then... let's go."
the cookies got on the horses of the carousel, which was lit up. the carousel started moving once they were all on. they rode it for quite a while. it made GingerBrave feel nostalgic again, but he didn't exactly know why. GingerBright and Strawberry seemed to be enjoying it. Zombie and Skater were fidgeting in distress. Walnut was staring blankly in front of her. Pancake fell asleep with his suit wrapped around him. Piñata and Firecracker were staring at the ground with tears in their eyes. as for Cream Unicorn, she was smiling. she enjoyed being happy in her final moments. after a bit, the carousel began to slow down. it was breaking, and the cookies began to feel nervous. when it finally came to a stop, Cream Unicorn stopped breathing and fell off of her horse. Skater noticed the center bar start cracking quickly and jumped off of his horse.
"GUYS! EVACUATE QUICKLY!" he yelled to the others.
his friends and Walnut jumped off of their horses and started running towards the entrance. they escaped Cookieland before it got engulfed in flames, killing Pancake, Firecracker and Piñata, who stayed behind. Walnut tripped on a rock when they stopped running, and she heard her phone ringing. she got it out of her bag and answered it. it was her dad, Almond.
"Walnut... you have to come quick. i'm dealing with shooters here and i don't think i can take them on by myself. i apologize for calling so late..." he said.
"oh, it's fine" she responded.
"thank you. i'm in the downtown part of the city. i'll meet you there."
"alright... bye, Dad. i love you."
"i love you, too."
she hung up.
"guys... i have to go. Almond needs me for a case."
"that's fine, Walnut! your work and your dad are more important to you than us" GingerBrave said.
"thank you for looking out for me. i'll see you all later!"
Walnut ran towards the city, and GingerBrave and his friends continued on. they soon ended up in a large field where different kinds of plants were growing. they saw some carrots and attempted to pull some out of the ground, until someone's voice startled them.
"hey, hey, hey! what are you doing?"

note: i didn't have a lot of ideas for this chapter, but i wanted to make it long. like i said, i come up with some ideas along the way! i also didn't know where to space this chapter out, so i'm sorry that it's just a long paragraph. i'm kinda excited that we're nearing the end of the first part of this story. thank you for reading, and i hope you enjoy the next chapter!
