Bucky had me backed into a corner behind him. He peaked out from around a box and fired shots at the men on the other end of the train car. When he would pull back I would pop on and fire at them.
Steve was trapped in another train car. He was able to pry the door open to make it from the train car he was trapped in. He made his way to where we were, handing Bucky a new gun once he was out of ammo.
"They are down," Bucky yelled over the rumbling of the train engine. He walked out from around the boxes and I followed before getting a little ahead, going for one of the enemy's guns.
There was a second of silence before a loud blast from the end of the car. Then I was outside, holding onto a railing as I dangled above, what felt like a canyon.
"Steve!" I cried out, trying to adjust my grip so I wouldn't fall.
"Mel, grab my hand!" Bucky hung out what was now a massive hole in the side of the train. He reached for me but he lost his footing, falling out of the hole.
I grabbed his hand before he could fall, letting him grab onto the pole I was holding onto.
We were able to hold on for a few seconds before Steve stuck his hand out, first grabbing for Bucky to try and pull him up.
The pole began to shake as it broke away from the train.
Then I fell. I could hear Bucky screaming as I watched him fall with me. Then it went black.
...
"So many broken bones, little lady."
My eyes opened slowly as a man with a thick accent was hovering over my body. The sound of a saw caught my attention and I turned my head to see Bucky.
He was missing his left arm. They were sawing away what was left of his arm, trying to get rid of the dead tissue.
I tried to reach for him but I couldn't move my body. Everything was completely numb. I couldn't even talk, everything was broken.
"This is going to be painful." The man let out a chuckle before I felt a knife run through my skin.
Screams forced their way out of my chest, unable to escape my mouth due to it being wired shut. Tears ran down my cheeks.
...
"Steve! Where's Steve!?" I yelled as I struggled in someone's arms. "Where is my brother?!"
They were carrying me. A man on each of my sides, holding me up while I kicked and screamed.
"She's doing it again. What should we do?" One of the men holding me said to a man in a suit. He was in front of us, guiding us to wherever they were taking me.
"Try to wipe her memories again. At some point this has to work," the man in the suit got extremely close to me. "Try the serum on her too. Maybe she needs to be rebuilt before it'll work properly."
The men set me down in a chair, strapping me into my seat. I was defenseless, I couldn't move.
He grabbed my face, squishing my cheeks as he made me look up at him. He stared at me as if he was inspecting my face.
I locked my eyes on him, before spitting at him. It hit him right on the cheek.
He quickly pulled away with a smile. Wiping my spit from his cheek as he turned around to look at the other men. "She will be interesting."
One of the men that carried me stepped in front of me, pushing me back so that they could put a strap over my chest and neck to hold me in place.
I felt a hand wrap around my wrist, flipping my arm around before a sharp poke went into my arm.
The scientist that had fixed me up when I was brought to this hell hole stepped into my line of sight, holding two rods. He let out a chuckle before he pressed them to my temples.
Electricity shot through my head as I let out screams. Crying out in pain at the top of my lungs. I couldn't form words, just noise.
...
"Hello again. We will try this one more time. If it does not work I think we might have to dispose of you." There was a pinching feeling in my arm before the scientist came into my line of sight. "We will need to put your body through extreme measures. If that doesn't work I don't know what will. Shock didn't work last time, maybe oxygen deprivation will work, or, we could put you in the cage with our Winter Soldier and see how that goes. I actually like that idea."
The scientist grabbed my arm and stuck me with a needle, injecting me with more of the super-soldier serum.
Two men walked over and grabbed me up off the table, pulling me to fall on the ground before dragging me out into the hallway.
I struggled, trying to get my footing as they dragged me down a long hallway. Kicking and screaming the entire time. Hoping one of them would slip up and drop me. I could take them, they trained me in combat. I could beat them and run. They just had to let go.
They finally stopped dragging me, throwing me into a large cage with only one other person.
"This is your target. Fight them until they pin you," A faceless man said to the Winter Soldier that was standing in the cage with me. "Or kill her."
The other person in the cage was a tall, dark-haired man. He had a metal arm with a big red star on his shoulder where his left arm was supposed to be. He slowly started to make his way toward me on the ground.
I got to my feet and started walking towards him as well. Just before he could swing and hit me I ducked. Popping back up to attempt to throw a punch, he was able to catch my fist in his metal hand, snapping it like a twig.
I used my free hand to bring my elbow down on his metal arm. Nothing happened.
He reached his right hand around to grab my hair, pulling me away from him as he let go of my hand.
My now broken hand fell to my side as my other hand raised up to his wrist. Digging my nails into his skin as I looked up at him.
He brought his metal hand to my throat, slowly tightening his grip by the second. Letting go of my hair to bring his right hand to meet his left.
I couldn't breathe. I tried stepping back but he followed until I was pressed up against the fencing. My nails tore through the skin on his right arm as I gasped for air. My feet left the ground. Within seconds my whole body began to hurt, suddenly going limp. My pulse felt as if it stopped completely.
His hand loosened around my neck, letting me go as I fell to the floor.
Something felt different. I had so much energy, yet I couldn't get up. I lay there as I watched him walk away from my body.
The jingle of the lock rang in my ear. One of the guard men ran in to check my pulse. "Nothing. I think he actually..."
Before I knew it my hand was wrapped around this man's throat. It was like my body was reacting without even thinking.
Guards rushed into the cage, aiming guns at me, screaming at me to let go.
My grip tightened until I felt his neck snap. Dropping the lifeless body before putting my hands up in the air.
...
"Your mission is to protect him. If anyone tries to even lay a hand on this Winter Soldier you are to eliminate them." One of the guards sat across from me in a military vehicle. "If anything happens to him, you will be retired."
I sat up straight, nodding at the guard. "Yes, sir."
We were on our way to a mission. The Winter Soldier, two guards, and I sat in the back of an armored truck on the way to our destination. I don't know what the mission was about. I don't know who we were supposed to kill. My job was to guard the Winter Soldier. My life was on the line.
When we got to the destination there was a huge crown down the road for miles. Everyone was chanting and cheering. I couldn't tell what for, I didn't pay enough attention. I was too distracted by the Soldier trying to make his way through the crowd.
The Winter Soldier took a few steps before he stopped completely, waiting for me to catch up to him. Once I was almost pressed up against his back, from the crowd pushing and shoving, he grabbed onto my hand. "Would you keep up?"
"Have you seen this road? It's crowded. Don't get cranky." I growled softly under my breath as I grabbed his hand. It felt familiar, oddly calming.
He guided us to a building where he could get upstairs. I stood guard while he set up a sniper, making sure that he had a good line of sight. All the fancy gun shit.
"Can you hurry up? Someone is going to find us." I looked over at the man.
"Shut up." He hummed softly as he focused his aim, before firing.
...
"Where is my brother!? Where is Steve!?" I screamed at the guards. "I want to see Steve!"
"You have got to be kidding me. Really? With this shit again. It's happening more and more nowadays." It was a new man now. He had short blonde hair with gray subtle gray all throughout it. "Why did no one warn me that Osiris was defective?"
I snarled at his wording. All of the knowledge from the past years floods back in seconds. "I'm not defective. Your methods are just shit."
"Oh? Please tell me that again." The man said with a smirk on his face.
"Your methods..." Suddenly I felt electricity against my temples. Screams force themselves out until the shocks stop.
"How do you feel now?"
"Like your methods are still shit."
"So feisty. Do it again."
The electricity hit again and my body tightened. Cries of pain left me once again as I pulled against the restraints. No matter how many times they tried to induce a seizure my body wouldn't let it happen.
"You're such a little bitch. Just a pain in my ass." The man turned away. "Turn it on. And leave it on until she can't remember shit."
Once again, the electricity hit. This time it didn't stop.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. The pain felt like it was going to kill me, but it didn't. It just kept coming.
