~ Bucky's P.O.V. ~
"Sam, where is she?" I sat in the lounge, on the edge of my seat, my head laying in my hands. I couldn't control how fast my leg was bouncing as I stared daggers into Sam.
Steve was pacing back and forth behind my chair. If he dragged his feet any harder a path would appear underneath him on the tile. He was silent, which was almost terrifying. So much was going through his head all at once and I couldn't even start to think what it all was.
"I don't know, it says she's not moving. She said she would be back. Maybe the tracker just isn't working or she stopped for a little bit and got distracted by something." Sam was frantically tapping on the tablet he used to control his dumb drone
Tony jogged into the room we were all sitting in. He had been in his lab working on a new tech thing that I will never understand. "Steve. I need to talk to you."
"What is it, Tony?" Steve stopped in his tracks, looking up at Tony who had 'worried' written on his face.
"I just..." He looked around the room, his eyes landing on me. "I need to talk to you in private."
"Tony, I don't have time. Melody isn't back yet and Sam's tracker isn't working or something." Steve walked over to stare at Sam's tablet before the broadcast was interrupted. A video began to play on the tablet, but with no audio.
I couldn't see it well, just blackness. Steve's face quickly changed from worry to pure fear. I reached for the tablet, grabbing it out of Sam's hand. "What is it? Let me see it, Sam."
Steve grabbed the tablet, pulling it away from me as he began walking toward Tony. "What is this? Are you trying to play games?"
"F.R.I.D.A.Y. alerted me minutes ago that Melody was in an accident. From the coordinates, she gave me I was able to determine there are cameras pointing towards the location, but it cuts out after she gets hit, so I can't tell you who it is or what happened." Tony took a step back from Steve, while Steve held the tablet in his face.
I stood up and walked straight for the hanger, Steve running to catch up with me. "Where was the accident?"
"She was just passing the property line. Coming from the south side of the property." He stared at the tablet as he walked next to me. "She's going to be ok. It's nighttime. This stuff happens all the time... Right?"
When we got to the hanger I grabbed a couple of handguns and slid them into my holsters. Steve grabbed his shield and put it on his back. We hopped on our bikes and drove down the road, a lot faster than we probably should have been.
Blue and red lights lit up the road at the property line. The only thing left behind from the accident was the scattered pieces of her bike. The truck was gone... She was gone.
I could see the blood scattered down the road. The smears from her dragging her body to call for help. I dropped down to my knees, I felt like I was suffocating. I made a fist with my left hand, swinging down towards the ground repeatedly. The road begins to crack under my strikes. Cries escaped with each punch until I was yelling. Suddenly, I was being dragged back towards the side of the road.
Steve was holding me, pulling me back out of the road. "Buck, breath."
"How am I supposed to breathe? Someone has her. Someone could be hurting her. How are you so fucking calm?" I sat on the side of the road, staring at the spot I was punching.
"I'm not calm. I'm terrified. But I'm not punching shit. We will find her. She survived HYDRA, Buck." He started rambling as if he was trying to convince himself it would be ok more than he needed to convince me.
"Alright Cap. I think we have everything we need. We will review the tapes and let you know what we find." An officer walked over to us. He had his eyes locked on me, trying to stay at least an arms-length away. He handed Steve Sam's tablet. "We will do everything we can to find her. Please try to stay calm for now. Don't do anything you will regret."
Steve handed the tablet down to me. "Are you calm enough to watch it now?"
I nodded and grabbed the tablet, pressing play on the video and watching the camera feed that Tony shared. Rewinding it as soon as it got to the end and rewatch it. You couldn't even see the van that hit her, it was too dark. Their headlights were off. All you saw was the impact and her flying, then gunshots followed by each camera going out one by one. It was a planned attack. Someone wanted to take her.
