They stopped sending us out on missions together. One of us would go out on a mission at a time, but never both of us. They also kept training between Bucky and me to a minimum. We barely ever saw each other anymore.
On the bright side, the missions got easier. They were not as important of tasks, not as many assassinations. I was really just doing the missions that would lead to Bucky doing the assassinations. I was the errand girl. I was expendable to them at this point. If I got caught it was whatever to them. They could replace me.
I had barely seen him for weeks. Then weeks turned to months. Eventually, I figured he didn't remember me. Stopped caring about what was going on. I felt so numb like I was just a mummy walking around, doing as I was told.

I sat in my cell on the cot, tossing a ball towards the mirror and letting it bounce back to me. The mirror shifted, letting me see through to the conference room. I kept bouncing my ball, ignoring the window, still staring at my own reflection.
Brock was standing on the other side. He had his arms folded over his chest while his feet sat on the table, pushing his chair back. He had been watching me for a bit of time before he talked, "Mission Report."
"I entered the building and retrieved the assigned equipment from the security desk. The security guard escorted me to the server room before leaving me to keep watch. I was able to hack into the computers and pull the information that I was assigned to collect and terminate. After I was able to locate the files that mentioned their involvement with previous HYDRA employees, I downloaded the files to the flash drive. I then deleted the files off of the server, forcing the server to self-destruct, per their security settings." I kept throwing the ball harder each time. Letting the pound of the window echo through both rooms.
He nodded as he got out of his chair. Beginning to pace from one end of the window to the other, staring at the ground. "Alright... How are you doing?"
"I'm fine." I let the ball roll under the cot instead of catching it. "Is there a certain way I'm supposed to feel?"
He shook his head. "No, not really... Do you want to have dinner with the Soldier?"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Ya, sure. Like you're actually going to let me have a meal with him."
"Why not?" He shrugged a little. Stopping his pacing to look at me. "I don't see an issue with giving you two some time together."
"Time with him and like 3 guards." My gaze shifted over to him.
"Nope. No guards, no cameras, just you and the Winter Soldier."
I stood up to walk over to the window, looking up at him. "What's your catch, Rumlow?"
"No catch." He looked down at me through the glass.
I shrugged a little, letting out a soft sigh. "Alright."
He nodded as he continued to watch me through the window. "Alright. Deal."
I nodded back as I walked towards the corner of the room with the shower, turning it on before peaking through the window. "Please get out now."
He nodded and deactivated the window. I could hear him shuffling around the room if I listened hard enough. Suddenly the door thud, letting me know he left.

It took them a couple of hours to come and get me. The guards that retrieved me led me through the halls to their break room. The door was propped open, two meal trays were set on a table in the middle of the room. The guards led me to sit at the table before the door opened again.
The Winter Soldier was being escorted in by two larger guards than mine.
I looked over at them and let out a chuckle. "Do they think you could take me? I would beat you two easily if I really wanted to."
One of them gave me a nasty look before walking towards the door. "If you need us, buzz on the com. We will be back in like an hour or two to get you."
I tried to wear somewhat decent clothes, not the sweats that I had been living in for days. People left me alone when I didn't shower as often, well until Rumlow was forced to bathe me once a week from that point on. I took a shower and put on one of the outfits that they got for a mission. It was a simple white shirt with jeans, covered by a leather jacket and a pair of heeled combat boots.
Bucky wasn't in his normal attire either. He was in a gray long sleeve shirt and black jeans. Which was a weird site, to me at least. He wore the shirt with both sleeves, his left arm wasn't showing. He hadn't worn a sleeve over that arm since we got back to this corner of hell.
I waited for the door to shut before opening my mouth. "How have you..." I was suddenly cut off by the inability to breathe. My feet were lifted off the floor. I squirmed frantically, slapping my hands on his shoulders as I tried to push him away. "Put me down, Soldier! That's an order."
His head shook against my shoulder as his arms got tighter. "No."
I stopped squirming but still pushed until he set me back down on the ground. My eyes met his as he looked down at me. "Bucky?"
He nodded as a smirk formed on his face.
I couldn't help but smile. I reached up and placed my hands on his cheeks, pulling him into a kiss. Holding him there for a couple of seconds before letting him go. "H-How?"
"It's not important." He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me back into a hug. He pressed his face to the top of my head.
I wrapped my arms around him tight. Grabbing onto the back of his shirt as I tried to fight back crying. I was just so happy, I didn't know how to feel. Everything I was convinced I lost wasn't gone.

"The memory loss was short-term, like last time. So their intention was to either just hurt me or they thought it would last longer. Everything sort of fell into place after we saw Steve in that alley." He sat and watched me eat.
I nodded as I took a bite of my soup, staring down at my bowl while I listened to him talk. "Do they know?"
He shook his head. "I don't think so. I've been acting numb as you said. I don't think they pay enough attention as long as I do what they tell me to do... Have you heard from Steve?"
I picked up my bowl to drink the rest of my soup before setting the bowl down. I used my arm to wipe my face as I shook my head.  "Not since the alley. I think my assignments have been too small for them to hear about them."
He nodded a little before standing up, sliding onto the bench next to me. "I'm going to ask them to start sending us out together again. Give them some reasoning as to why I need your help on the assignments."
I nodded before laying my head on his shoulder. "I'm surprised they haven't busted in here yet. He gave me that tracker and then never did anything with the location."
"I am willing to bet that they have a jammer in here. They will find us, Mel. You know he will." He rested his head on top of mine.
"Ya, I know. It's just taking so long." I let out a soft sigh.
He nodded, moving back to the other side of the table. He reached under the table and grabbed my hand. "We will get through this Mel."
I nodded back, gently squeezing his hand. "I know."

It wasn't long before they came back to get us, escorting us back to our cells. After we got back it was already time for lights out. Sending us straight to bed.
I couldn't sleep though. I sat at the desk in my cell, looking over the files that had been piling up from assignments. All the little ones that they hadn't yet come into my room to take away. I wasn't able to figure out if they were all connected. They gave me little to no details in the files, they even stopped giving me the names of the people we were watching. All they gave me was the files I needed to download and who I needed to contact to get to the locations.
