"What are you talking about?" I turned my chair to face the big window. "You mean the low-status mission that we were sent on today with one target? Who was eliminated, by the way."
"You were told to take out anyone in your way," The older man said. "You were met with return fire and did not fulfill my request."
I let out a sigh. "The target was eliminated. Tony Stark, who was the other party in the meeting, returned fire. Once the Winter Soldier and I made our way down to Iron Man, we were met by Captain America, a.k.a Steve Rogers, and Natasha Romanoff. The Soldier defended himself against Iron Man while I was attacked by the Captain. After a short period of time they fled. Soldier was able to get one final shot off, damaging Iron Man's suit, before he got away. We made our way back to the location that Rumlow had set before coming back here."
"What did I say would happen next time you slipped up?" He took a bite of his food, barely paying attention to me.
"You said there would be punishments." I stood up, walking over to the window. "We did not slip up. We finished our mission."
He made a soft humming noise before wiping his mouth. His chair slid back before he stood up, walking around the table to get closer to the window. "You let them go."
"We were unprepared for a mission of such requirements. We did the best we could with the information you gave to us."
He shook his head and made a clicking sound with his tongue. "Such a shame. I thought I wouldn't have to push such unnecessary measures to get you two to cooperate."
"What are you talking about?" Before I could finish my sentence a television in the corner of the meeting room flipped on.
Bucky was sitting in that chair, strapped into the seat. A person pried his mouth open before shoving a mouth guard into it. Then the helmet piece came down.
I raised my fist to pound it on the glass, smashing into it as hard as I could. A couple of the men jumped as they turned to look at me. "Don't you dare! You fucking promised!"
A smirk crept upon his face as he looked at me, then back at the TV. All you could hear was Bucky screaming in pain.
My stomach turned as I dropped to my knees, tears streaming down my face. My fist still pounding on the window, harder each time. I cried out as if I was in pain. "Stop! Stop it! He- He didn't do anything wrong!"
"It will be better this way. You will see."
Suddenly all I could see was myself in the mirror. I punched harder... and harder... and harder. Nothing. Not a crack. Not a noise. I was stuck in silence now. I sat for a few minutes trying to gather myself. A few minutes turned to hours. Before I knew it the lights were dimming for bed. I couldn't move. I felt so numb. They left me in my cell for days. Not even pulled out for training. At one point they installed a punching bag on the ceiling so I could train in there. I didn't pay much attention. I just laid in bed.
When the ladies would drop off my food they would try to talk to me but I didn't respond. They tried slipping treats onto my tray hoping I would eat at least that, but I didn't.
I didn't move. Not to eat. Not to train. Not to talk. I just laid there. Over time my threat level dropped. They probably would have let children in there with me if they had any. I would have been a good daycare center."Osiris, you are starting to seriously lose weight. Can I at least take you to get a check-up with the doctor?" Brock sat at my desk, his feet up on the end of my bed.
I shrugged a little as I pulled my blanket up over my head, blocking out the light.
"If they can't send you on assignments they will put you on ice. It's been two weeks." He took his feet down as he grabbed the blanket, pulling it off my head.
"Since an unjust punishment that wiped my partner's brain, probably making him want to murder me or something." I pulled the blanket up once more.
The blanket was suddenly yanked off of me. Brock grabbed my foot and pulled me off the cot, letting me fall onto the floor. "Let's go."
"Where?" I rolled over and got to my feet, following behind Brock as he opened the door.
He held it open, letting me walk out before grabbing my arm and leading me down the halls. He led me to our training room.
Bucky was in the little caged ring, fighting with one of Brock's guards. He didn't hear me or couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me as we entered the room because he didn't even turn around. Just sat and watched as the guard exited the cage to come and greet us.
"She is finally up and moving around?" He walked over to Brock, turning his back toward me in an attempt for me to not hear him.
Brock turned to look at me before turning back. "It was difficult but I was successful."
"How long until you think we can put her in there?" The other guard started to walk toward the cage. Putting a bit of distance between them and me, causing them to get quieter, though I could still hear them.
"Probably not soon. I think she would let him kill her, honestly."
I rolled my eyes, turning around to walk around a little bit. I walked in circles around the room, studying the painfully familiar surroundings. I didn't want to look at him, as soon as I did every bit of pain that broadcast brought me would come to reality. This shit wasn't fun anymore, I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know Steve is coming for me, but it just got so much more complicated.
"Osiris!" Brock was snapping at me as if he had been trying to get my attention.
I broke from my thoughts and looked over at him. Making my way back to him and the other guard. "Hmm?"
"We want to try and get you two back out on assignments. We need you to train with him. Can you do that?" He was attempting to be sweet, but he would throw me in that ring with the Winter Soldier whether I said yes or no.
"Sure. Not like I have much of an option." I walked over to the little cage door, waiting for one of them to open it.
The other guard let out a soft sigh as he unlocked it, letting me in. "Are you sure you don't want to change? You are still in your pajamas."
I shook my head a little and walked into the cage, finally getting a glimpse of Bucky. There was no emotion on his face. The last time I saw him like that was before we had escaped from HYDRA before we found Steve.
Brock walked up to the side of the cage, grabbing onto the links. "Soldier, stay defensive. Osiris, pin him. You can't get out until he is down."
I nodded, not taking my eyes off Bucky. I took a couple of steps closer to Bucky, taking a swing at him.
He caught my fist, holding it in his hand as he started to push me back toward the fencing. He wasn't holding back how he normally did. He didn't care what happened, I could see it in his eyes.
I took a deep breath before digging my feet against the ground, pushing back. I raised my other fist and punched him in the jaw.
He let go of my hand as he turned his head, just before bringing his left arm up and slamming his elbow into my face.
"Oh fuck!" The guard let out a chuckle as he covered his mouth. He pulled on the fencing a bit, making it rattle.
I brought my hand to my, now swelling, eye. I ignored the pain, looking back up at him, trying to shake it off. I let out a growl before swinging again, harder this time.
He blocked it with his arm, taking a step back.
I kept throwing punches, one after another. All while he kept blocking. My growls turned into screaming as he backed up against the fencing. I went to throw a punch but instead grabbed his right arm, pulling his body off the side of the cage, and launching him forward. I rotated to face his back, jumping on him and wrapping my arms around his neck, using my body weight to pull him back. I swung my legs to slip myself to his front side, wrapping them around his neck as hard as I possibly could before falling backward, pulling him down to the ground with me. I reached to press the pressure points on his left arm, causing it to pop off. I got out from under him and stood up, grabbing the arm and throwing it over the top of the fence, causing it to land by Brock.
"What the fuck." Bucky looked up at me. Anger covered his face as he looked over at his arm.
I walked over to the side of the cage where Brock was standing. "Let me out."
He was wide-eyed, obviously confused. He nodded and opened the cage door.
I walked over to the limb and picked it up, walking back over to Bucky and handing it to him.
Turning back around and walking towards the exit of the training room. "I'm going back to my room. If you need me you know where I will be."
"What the fuck did she just do." I could hear Brock talking to the other guy as I walked away just before the doors closed.
