Allison's Perspective

"They're kind of cute, don't you think?" Cadence looks at me with sparkling eyes after staring at Amora and Maxwell in awe. Both of us were just sitting on a bench under a tree. The others were talking to each other across from us. Everyone was tired after the arcade but none of us wanted to go home yet.

I smiled at her, "Yes. Yes, they are."

The spark in her eyes slowly disappeared and said in a disappointed tone, "Right. She's still with that... Jerk."

I was also disappointed now, "I really hope she breaks up with him soon. That asshole is just bad news."

"I'm furious," she slumped back and leaned on my shoulder.

I remember how I caught Amora crying in the bathroom on the night we attended our first prom. The night she got dumped. When I asked her what had happened, she just shook her head and left. She doesn't talk about her feelings, but I know her past relationships and flings were shit. There were toxic ones too. All the boys she dated were shit, not her but she blames herself most of the time.

And that made me realize, that no matter how pretty you are, you can still get cheated on. No matter how good you are towards them, you can still get treated like shit.

I don't know how or why people are like that. Amora deserves better.

She whispered, "Allison? You alright, love?"

"Oh, um—Yes! I'm alright... and did you just call me 'love'?"

She raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, is that fine?"

"Yes, of course!"

"Your ears are red, are you okay? Are you feeling a bit sick?" She smirked but still tried to hide it.

I feel like she knows what she's doing. And as for me— I don't know why I'm blushing so hard.

"Are you speechless? You're very quiet..." she chuckled, "Hmm, maybe perhaps... I've won this round!"

We have this kind of thing where we flirt-- No, the word "flirt" sounds weird. Let's just say we have a game of our own where we catch each other off guard. We've been doing this every time we're together and I just realized it.

And I actually don't like it if she wins. I don't know why.

I scoffed, "In your dreams, Lewis."

"Oh, just accept your loss, Matthews," she looked at me with a smug face.

I remained quiet because I know she'd be worried. And just as expected...

"Are you upset with me? I'm sorry, love, I was just teasing."

I feel bad because her voice was so small, but I still stayed silent.

"And I guess I'm getting the silent treatment," she laughed nervously and turned her gaze away from me.

I wanted to laugh, but actually felt bad at the same time. It was quiet.

"Cadence," I called.

"Yes, love?" she answered but didn't look at me. She looks very cute I feel so bad for making her feel guilty. I thought of something to say to get her attention.

Then an idea clicked.

"I love you."

And when she looked my way, I took it as an opportunity to kiss her. My hand then grabbed the side of her face and caressed her cheek gently with my thumb.
