What Even Is Art Skills And Why Are They So Unreliable

*Warning* there is a swear word in the drawing 👀

Anyway, guess what!! This piece took me two days, and it also only took me like 15 minutes!!

"But Silver!" I can hear you saying. "How is that possible?"

Well, my good friends. I tried to draw this stupid basic angle and expression for t w o d a y s and for some reason my hands were like "LOL I DON'T THINK SO" and then I moved to my sketchbook instead and they were like "OOPS YOU WANTED TO DRAW? MY BAD, I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO MAKE A FACE THAT WAS FACING A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WAY AND THEN GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS L O L"

Then today the same thing happened except when I got to my sketchbook I drew one stupid one and then scribbled another one because I didn't care and LO AND BEHOLD I ACTUALLY HAD THE FOUNDATION FOR SOMETHING BECAUSE WHY MAKE THINGS EASY FOR ME WHEN YOU COULD JUST NOT???

Anyway here's Francis

Anyway this is Francis, he's a character in a freaking novel that my friend wrote (they're currently working on the second one which is like what the heck) and I love him to death

Literally. 

He's also an idiot and is absolutely in love with his best friend and knows it too but was up until recently in extreme denial, I love him

This is him unconscious on the ground because he got knocked out (long story), woke up to his "best friend" confessing his love, confessed back, hastily added "bro" at the end, and pretended to pass out again rather than face the embarrassment

Yes that is canon and does happen in the story

I would die for him 

And this is stick figure Francis that I drew last night after failing to make anything decent. 

He's throwing his evil step mother out of the castle tower

That's a crown by the way, not his hair

Basically this is just a Francis fan chapter because I love him so much I can't even express it, and his boyfriend I mean best friend Johann too oh my god

Anyway sorry, this was originally just going to be the first sketch/doodle/whatever that is but it quickly dissolved into "let me fanperson about my friend's awesome character and extreme talent" so you all have to deal with it

Also I just wanna let you guys know because I believe in complete artistic transparency, it may look like I just busted that sketch out but I happen to have a stellar kneadable eraser that I got for my birthday and it lets me work in layers, so when I say I scribbled, I mean I put down a basic face shape super fast and my guidelines, and just threw features on there before realizing I kind of liked some of the shapes. Then I fixed it up a bit, erased my sketchiest layer so it was a lot lighter and did my nice "line art" on top and my hatching shading that I l o v e god hatching is amazing

So yeah it didn't take me long but I absolutely used guidelines and sketch layers you just can't see them

Anyway, I would say I'm sorry there was only one piece of actual art in here and that the rest of it is me ranting about a character you don't know, but I'm actually not sorry because my friend is amazing and deserves all the love and promotion they can get
