Soulmates

Chapter four

Kelly and I were sitting in Joyce's office, waiting for the DNA results to come back. She was wearing some clothes from Jess' closet. She decided to keep everything Jess had and save her other clothes after the baby was born.

The outfit she chose to wear was making me feel aroused. She was wearing a low neck cut shirt that showed her cleavage and fit loose around her stomach. The pants she paired with the shirt had a stretchy band for her growing stomach and fit tight everywhere else.

I was wearing a pair of jeans that were a little snug over my groin, if you catch my drift. I was wearing a tank top tucked into my jeans and a sports bra. I had a light hoodie on, but had to bunch it in my lap to hide my erection. 

I was finding it hard to sit with the tight restrain on my erection and stood up with my hoodie tied around my waist, covering my front. Kelly looks at me confused and I show her my problem before Joyce walked in with the results. 

Her eyebrows raise when she sees my erection going down my thigh of my tight jeans. I put the hoodie back in place as Joyce walks in and Kelly giggles. Joyce looks between us, confused, but thankfully doesn't ask questions. 

She smiles and says, "Jennifer is the father of your baby."

Kelly takes me in her arms as I break into uncontrolled sobs. "Can we do an ultrasound," she asks in a choked whisper. 

"Of course, I'll let her calm down first," she says in sympathy. 

"Can we do it now, I don't think I can calm down until I see the baby," I choke in a whisper and Kelly takes my hand.

"Sure, come with me," Joyce says softly and we follow her four doors down from her office.

I help Kelly in the examination chair and take her hand. I kiss her forehead while Joyce exposes her stomach and applies the gel for the ultrasound. Moments later the baby appears on the monitor, but there's more than one baby. "We're going to need a second crib in the nursery," I choke with a smile. 

Joyce looks at me confused and asks, "Where do you see the second baby?"

Kelly points out the two babies and tears fill her eyes. "Twins," she chokes with a smile. "Play the heartbeat please."

Joyce flicks a switch and you can hear the echo in the heartbeat. "Both are strong heartbeats," I choke with relief. I was feeling overwhelmed and choke quietly, "I need a minute."

I step out in the hall and lace my hands behind my head. I pace the width of the hall and take calming breaths as tears roll down my cheeks. With my back against the wall, I slide down to the floor and cover my face with my hands.

A few minutes later I feel a hand run in my hair and look up at Kelly. She had tears in her eyes, but they held sympathy for me. She hands me a printout of the ultrasound and I smile through the tears. I rise to my knees in front of her and kiss her stomach. She wipes my eyes and I stand, giving her a kiss.

"I'll call your mother and my parents and we can announce the good news over dinner tonight at our place," she chokes with a smile and I nod with a light smile. "It feels weird to say our place."

I kiss her forehead, not trusting myself to speak. She takes my hand and leads me out to my car. I open the passenger door for her and she wipes my eyes. "You okay to drive," she asks in a soothing whisper and I nod lightly. 

She gives me a kiss and climbs in the passenger seat. I close her door and get in the driver's seat. I head home while she calls my mother from my phone. "Hi Irene, it's Kelly...It is her phone. She's driving right now...Would you like to join us for dinner at her place? We have some news we'd like to share with you and my parents...Looking forward to seeing you too," she says with a smile.
