I was watching movies with Alexis while Kelly and Claire went out with the twins to Kelly's parents house. We were cuddled up on the couch watching the Lion King. We both must have fallen asleep because I woke to Devon covering us with a blanket.

I look around sleepily and she motions to my right side. I look down and saw Alexis hugged to my arm, sleeping with her head on my shoulder. She had my hair and eyes but she looks like Devon. Erica, Kelly and Claire walk in, admiring how Alexis was cuddled with me.

I look at Erica. After Carrie left I did a little more digging and found out several things, one of which I needed to talk to her about. It left me feeling guilty and partially at fault. "I need to speak with you, privately," I say quietly, but my tone was serious.

"Does it have to be right now," Devon asks curious, taking Erica's left hand that now held the ring Devon showed me yesterday.

"It's official police business, so yeah. It has to be now," I say quietly.

I raise an eyebrow at Erica and she turns to kiss Devon's forehead. "Let me take care of this real quick and then we can go shop for the party," Erica says with a smile and Devon nods lightly.

Devon sits on the other side of Alexis and whispers in her ear. I realize she's singing to her in Spanish and Alexis moves to cuddle with Devon. I looked between them before leading Erica to my home office. I closed the door before turning to her and she looked worried.

"What did you find out," she asks in a choked whisper.

"Everything you told me and more. There's two things you should know and before I tell you, you need to know how sorry I am about one of these two things," I choke quietly as tears fill my eyes and she looks at me confused and scared. "Your wife and I had the same car. My car was in the shop for a brake line replacement on the day of her accident. Your wife died, but it should have been me and I'm so sorry."

Her eyes close as she takes several calming breaths before looking at me as tears roll down her cheeks. "It's not your fault and I don't blame you. Thank you for giving me some kind of closure. What was the second thing you found out," she asks curiously while wiping her eyes.

"Jessica's father had another child with a side woman our sophomore year of high school. They would be two years older than Alexis. Only problems are we don't know the name and gender of the child, nor the mother. On a brighter note, my partner and I found enough hard evidence to lock Jessica's father up for a lifetime. Only problem is we don't know who in our department to trust to take him down so we need the FBI," I say quietly and show her the three inch thick folder of evidence we collected.

"How were you able ..."

"I have connections and I'm good at hiding my tracks when hacking someone," I say with a light smile.

"Thank you for believing me, for believing Jessica. I know what she did is unforgivable but..."

"Erica, it's okay. I read everything and I understand why she did what she did," I choke quietly. "Thank you for raising Alexis and being there for Devon. I can't express how thankful I am knowing she had someone like you to look after them. I'll do whatever I can to be there in the future and I'll help you protect them."

"Thank you Jennifer. Can I get back to my fiancée," she asks with a teary smile. "God it feels good to say that after all these years."

"Yeah, we have a party to plan," I say with a smile and walk out of my office.

We walk back out to find Devon asleep with Alexis. Erica covers them and we back away to the kitchen where we found Kelly and Claire. "Is everything okay," Kelly asks with concern looking at Erica.
