Watching her daughter's lit up face, Ellie tried to think of how she was going to answer the wave of questions that will follow. 

And the little girl didn't disappoint : "Did he come back from space ?"

Angie choked on the sip of coffee she had taken a few seconds before as Ellie looked at her daughter in confusion. 

"What ? Who told you that ?" Ellie asked, still confused as to where her daughter came to such a conclusion.

"I may have something to do with that," half-whispered Angie, giving her best friend an apologetic smile. "She wouldn't stop questioning me one day when I went to pick her up from school and I got frustrated, and it was the only thing I could think of that will not lead to a lot more questions that I do not know the answers of! " 

Angie rambled on about the car ride home, how she was tired that day and the little girl seemed to be on a mission to get answers straight away. "I didn't know what else to say, and since there was no indication that you-know-who would come knocking back, I didn't think it will do any harm!" she added, lifting her shoulders helplessly. 

Ellie's heart went out to her friend, Amber was a very curious little girl and God knows she won't stop until all her questions were answered to her liking. She gave her friend's hand a light squeeze and smile before turning her attention to her daughter, settling her comfortably on her knees.

"Baby, remember when mummy told you that she was young when she got you ?" Ellie asked cautiously. The four-year-old thought for a moment before nodding. "Well, your father was also very young at that time. It can be scary to become a daddy and to take care of such a little human. I don't know how he felt at that time, it is his story to tell."  She took her daughter's hands in hers and continued, "Listen, sweetie, he will tell you all about it when he is ready, but you will have to be patient. Okay?" The little girl nodded again.

Ellie took a deep breath and gave her daughter a quick kiss and hug before putting her in her own  chair. "Come on, let's finish breakfast, we have a few things to do before we go see him. Okay ?" She asked nervously.

Once again, the little girl only nodded before taking her spoon and dipping it in the bowl of cereals that she was eating earlier. As she resumed eating, Ellie and Angie exchanged a worried look, before the red head gave her friend a hopeful smile.
