Hey guys!

Sorry for the wait... but chapter 10 is here.

I hope you like it... Enjoy!!

That evening, Ellie found herself picking at her plate of stir fry and steak, which Helena had sent.

Ha, she thought sarcastically, that's what Matthew is eating. Was it Destiny's way of showing me that we even have that in common?

She couldn't get rid of the image of Matthew's defeated face as she told him that she was in a relationship with Dean and that they could only be friends. She had felt the need to add that he was Amber's father as a justification for her choice.

If she really liked Dean would she have done that? She was not so sure. She always felt that she has to justify her actions when it comes to Dean and his past actions. Like, he has to be defended in front of her friends and family.

"Ellie!" Angie's voice broke her thoughts; she was so engrossed in her thoughts that she did not hear her best friend talking to her.

"What?" she asked completely lost about the situation.

"I was saying that we could all organise a picnic on Sunday in the park since the weather is so nice lately", Angie said while waving the cutlery in her hands while talking.

"Yeah, it's a good idea, we could go after church", Ellie replied thoughtfully. The girls always go to church on Sundays with Helena and George. It was something they never missed. "So let's say around two o'clock?"

"No prob, we'll just have to check in with the others then we can fix the final time," Angie said, making gestures with her fork in the air.

"Angie, will you stop waving with your cutlery", Ellie said with a stern look before asking on a more serious tone "what do you mean by "the others"?" She made air quotes emphasizing the words.

"I just told you; Cass and Josh along with Emy and Matthew," Angie said impatiently.

"I don't think that Matthew would be so keen on coming." Ellie sadly said, still playing with her food.

Angie looked at her closely for a moment before turning to Amber. The little girl was finishing eating cautiously, cutting her food with the tiny knife that Ellie had allowed her to use.

"Amber darling, are you finished eating?" she asked using her sweet voice.

"I'm full but there's still food on the pwate", the toddler exclaimed with a look of desperation, "Mummy, can I leave the rest, pwease?" she asked using the same sweet voice as Angie had used with her.

Ellie smiled, Amber always tends to pronounce the letter after a p as a w, and she found this so absolutely adorable that she bypassed the fact that her daughter was becoming more and more like her best friend.

Given that Amber has eaten most of it, she nodded and said, " yes my little angel, you may leave it."

"Could you get ready for bed by yourself and play in your room till bedtime, please? Aunt Ange has to talk about something important with mummy." Angie said while making huge innocent eyes to Amber, making the little girl to laugh.

"Yes Aunty," she pushed her chair away from the table, she jumped to the ground before making her way to her room under the watchful eyes of Ellie.

The four-bedroom apartment that Ellie and Angie shared allowed each of them to have their own rooms and a spare one that came in handy when Emy or some other friends stay over. They have moved in when Amber was still a baby and they never felt the need to look for another.
