Day 2920 (5 years later)
" Really? Are we doing this? Here right now?"
I asked him
Zuko" Yes here, just open up"
Me" I don't feel like I can pull it off"
Zuko" Babe, please relax"
Me" Fine, do it, but don't be rough"
Zuko" I will be gentle
Me" Gentle! I'll just bend"
Zuko" I love you"
Me" Nope, just do this"
He giggled, Zenimdumise was eating gum and he wanted me to hug him, then sticked the entire thing on my hair. Zuko is now trying to take out all the sweets and gum from my hair.
Me" I can hear you laughing"
Zuko" Hahaha I am sorry ke"
Me" Your children hate me"
Zuko" They love you, that's how you got into this mess"
Zuko and I have 3 children, Zenimdumise, Swelihle and Ngwanya.
" Babe, let's just go to the salon"
Me" Ngwanya threw up on my hair, I cannot leave the house"
Zuko" I can't do this without being disgusted or laughing"

We have been together for 5 years and married for 3 of those years. Each day has been filled with magic. Love? We never ran out of that. Some days were hell but that's a thing with every marriage but we stayed together. And fought for our love because it's what we both wanted. We welcomed Swelihle a year after we got married and then Ngwanya followed. Zuko gave me everything I have ever wanted, a family and I couldn't be happier. His family never really accepted me and I never really gave a fuck, I however loved their son and their hatred for me never changed anything in our relationship. His mother tried for the sake of her grandchildren but Zenimdumise never wanted her to hold him, I guess he could feel the vibes because she was a bitch while I was pregnant with him. But Sweli loved her grandma, I didn't keep the kids away from her. I would never do that, Zuko took them with him whenever he visited them but I created boundaries.

He said handing me his card and I giggled.
"I will look after them"
Me" New hair?"
Zuko" And brunch with your friends"
Me" Are you sure? I can take one monkey"
Zuko" You deserve a day off"
Me" I love you"

Moments like these existed a lot in our marriage.
Me" That's rude"
I went to take a quick shower, I wore blue skinny jeans and white V-neck T-shirt with my favorite pair of black stilettos . I wore a doek because my hair still had gum even after the showering.
Zuko" Yea, we are coming with, why umhle just to go to the salon?"
"We are coming with, need to show these men that you are a mother to three children"
Me" Hahaha you are an idiot"
" Meet me at Walmer park, I'll call you, then we can do some grocery shopping"
Zuko" Fine, I am watching you"
Me" Can I take your car?"
Zuko" Hahaha hay Azange, you have two of your own cars. Please don't abuse me"
Me" But I want yours"

We decided to call the babysitter and do date night, we went to The Garden Club. We booked ourselves a hotel to go enjoy each other without being disturbed, our sex life never changed. We still drove each other insane, I think that's the one thing we both worried about but I guess we were just wrong about a lot.
Me" I am hungry"
Zuko" We can go to the garage down the road to get something to eat"
We quickly got dressed, I grabbed his car keys and he giggled. We went to the Caltex garage, we were holding hands and laughing at something that happened with the kids.
"Zuko"
We both turned around, and we had different reaction to the person standing in front of us.
Zuko" Hello"
Samke" Hey"
I don't think she noticed me at first because when she looked at me she looked really surprised.
"Wow"
Escaped her mouth, it's strange, I was always envious of her but I think that was all rooted in me wanting her husband. Yikes.
Me" Hey, I'll go look for what I wanted"
I left them to chat, he eventually came out of the garage after I was already in the car. He kept quiet then stared at me.
Zuko" Masambe"
Me" Okay"
Zuko" No, I mean let's go home to our kids"

I never asked Zuko that night what he and Samke spoke about, but whatever they spoke about got to him. He was in his shell for about 3 days until he asked to speak to me.
" I am sorry but I am going back to Samke"
He said
Me" What?"
Zuko" Hahaha I am joking"
Me" That's not funny"
Yet I giggled because I couldn't kill him. That pissed me because he deserves to be knifed for that.
Zuko" She wanted to apologize to you and I said she shouldn't. I told her that what happened because all of us was tragic and we should leave it that"
Me" Qha?"
Zuko" She was telling me that my mother still speaks to her and then congratulated on all the monkeys. Then I congratulated her on her pregnancy and engagement"
Me" I am happy for her"
Zuko" I felt guilty, like I never got the chance to feel the guilt because I was too busy trying to not die but seeing her made me feel like shit"
Me" I felt like that for so long but I have healed"
Zuko" I didn't know I was carrying that with me until I bumped into her and actually apologized for everything"
Me" I will always hate how our story starts, I love you though. I am not even shamed of it. I love you more than I will ever be able to express. I am thankful for you, and my children. Hurting her was never my intention. I don't even wanna lie but I don't regret anything"
Zuko" Masambe Shakespeare, your children are fighting again"
Me" Nope, it's your turn to go check. I am over here writing poems"
Zuko" Hahaha why don't we just let them fight it out, you and I take a bubble bath and make another baby?"
Me" I support that plan"
