First of all, I love their skit of it. Here it is with subtitles, which makes it even better:
Ok, now onto the story part of this.
My school was doing a play based on A Midsummer Night's Dream but with some sort of Jersey twist. Literally everyone had a Jersey accent. I originally wasn't going to go, but my friend Caleb was nice and bought me a ticket so we could sit next to each other and watch it together.
It was a great play! But you know what made it even better?
The unexpected Beatles references.
I'm not kidding.
At the beginning, one of the girls said "Just like our favorite Beatles song, Dr Pepper!" And her boyfriend said "Actually, it's Sgt Pepper." (And also, I know they aren't aware, but that reference goes even deeper because there's also the song Doctor Robert so it sounds like the songs are combined!)
I was so happy. Caleb kept looking at me, and my theater teacher was sitting two rows in front of us, looking back at me. And although I didn't look over, I'm sure everyone else around me was looking at me or at least thinking of me. I don't mind! I like when I get the Beatlemania attention 😊
That already made the play amazing, but it got even better because that wasn't the only one.
Later on in the play, some fairies also mentioned them. One said "I love the Beatles!" And then the others added to it by making more references to multiple songs (Please Please Me, Help, Can't Buy Me Love, I Saw Her Standing There and maybe some more).
That's when I essentially got high...
Caleb kept looking at me and asking me if I was ok because he had never seen me on a Beatlemania high. I had to warn him about that. I'm basically on one now just writing this, and listening to That Means a Lot is contributing to it as well 😂
It's just another Beatles filled day in my life! (Two references in one, yay!)
And also, yesterday was horrible because of the sat testing I had to do but we're not talking about that unless you guys are genuinely interested. Needless to say, today was much better and now I've got a three day weekend so maybe I'll be able to update Backwards Traveler or Detective Macca 😊
