"Where is she this time?" asked River, her skin dark and glowing under the natural light casted by the sun. She was once again looking for her blonde haired friend who she always seemed to loose but today she just couldn't afford to loose her.
Today was too important of a day to go around playing hide and seek with the little trouble maker named Sofia but her soft like features made her get out of trouble just as easy as she gets into them.
"I saw her at the garden probably talking to one of her animal friends. Goodness that girl could pass of as crazy." the owner of the establishment they resided in and also their guardian speaks sighing heavily in annoyance.
She disliked that girl for reasons unknown to anyone but herself.
With a heavy sigh, River makes her way to the garden silently cursing herself for not checking there first. "Sofia! Sofia come out this instant. You know we have to get ready before the car gets here." she so desperately yells.
She could hear her giggles and her soft voice from not too far away. She followed her melodic voice and when she found the source her agitated face immediately disappears and a small smile replaces the frown.
She found Sofia sitting on the dirty ground, mud all over her dress and face as she tended to the flower beds that sported daisies.
She was mumbling to herself or maybe not herself but the wild rabbit that was munching on the carrot that she knew Sofia had stolen from the kitchen.
"Sofia" came a whine from River. How can she stay mad at her when she looked so pure.
Sofia's blue eyes turned to Rivers direction meeting her brown ones and a smile formed on her muddy face.
"River! Come see what I found eating the cabbage beds!" Sofia giggles as she points at the rabbit eating a carrot.
"I know Ms Day doesn't like anyone near her cabbage beds so I took a carrot so Mr Snow here can eat that instead!" she says with such passion you couldn't help but smile along.
"That's great Sof but we really need to go and get ready, you know Ms Day will be angry if we are not ready on time." River tries to reason.
"Okay fine but can I take Mr Snow with me. I promise he won't be a problem." she frowns clearly wanting to stay longer.
She had always loved nature and nature seemed to love her back but who wouldn't... besides Ms Day of course.
"You know Ms Day would never approve and I don't think Mr Snow would want to be kept in a house come too think of it he sounds much like you." River tries to joke as the frown on Sofia's face made her guilty.
She too believed that she deserved to be smiling forever.
"Fine, but can we visit Mr Snow when we come back." She pouts.
That's if they do.
"Of course we can love but right now we need to get ready."
With that they both head back into the house they called home along with 10 other girls ranging from the ages 5 to 20.
But only the girls from 18 to 20 had to prepare for the departure and Sofia so happens to be finally 18 but you wouldn't be able to tell by her childlike behaviour. It came with her charm.
For about 2 and a half hours River and Sofia spend their time trying to get Sofia clean and less muddy.
It also took some time trying to get her in a corset and a formal dress as Sofia always preferred loose clothing. She hated the feeling of fabric on her delicate skin.
Once they both were looking presentable or about as close too presentable as you could get with Sofia they made their way to the hall where they could wait with the other girls.
Sofia had settled for a light blue dress with no corset but a hugging top and a loose bottom and flat shoes as she could not handle heels. For her hair she just let River brush it but didn't allow her to style it as she preferred letting it hang to her waist. A wild beauty if you must.
River was the total opposite she loved her clothes and makeup, she had settled for a dark red dress with a corset and heels that weren't too high but gave her a slight height. She looked beautiful. From her curly hair tied into a bun to her heeled black shoes.
They got to the chatty room filled with 3 other girls who looked ready and well prepped for the journey.
The journey that could change their lives for good.
The journey to the castle for the mating season.
