She gasps at the sound. It sent chills down her body. "Who is There!" She frantically looks around, clearly frightened.
She didn't seem to see the figure that was lurking in the dark coner of the hallway. He was watching her the moment she stepped into the floor. And from all he had observed he concluded that she was crazy but yet so very intriguing...
"You're quite the character aren't you." The voice taunts. He loved watching her reactions. Fear... fear... and fear.
"Cute little thing too." the deep voice chuckles.
Sofia was at the brim of Tears, she wanted to run and hide but the voice seemed to be coming from everywhere. It seemed as if she was cornered.
All she could do now was clutch the bunny in her grasp, protecting it from whatever monster that was there.
"Please...please don't hurt him. His just a baby." Sofia crys out thinking that the voice was referring to the bunny. It was quite dramatic but she would rather die then let the little rabbit die in her hands.
The voice went quiet. She truly was odd, here she was trying to save a rabbit. A damn rabbit.
Sofia's cries were getting louder as fear filled her.
It wasn't guilt that he was feeling...no it couldn't be. He had never felt that way before. He had never felt guilty about all the bad he had done so why would he feel guilt in teasing a little girl.
"Go." The voice booms still confused by the scene that just played in front of him.
After a long day of work he wanted to go over to his private bar and get a drink of scotch or whisky but he stumbled across the girl and he couldn't resist the urge to scare her. It was just too tempting.
Sofia runs hurriedly to the direction she came from and after a couple of wrong turns she finally got to her room. She opened the door and went straight to her room and sat down on her bed wondering what the monster was.
All the excitement she felt about being inside a real life castle died and was replaced by fear as they seemed to be a monster lurking in the darkness preying on the weak.
She tried so much to convince herself that it was all a dream, she even tried to sleep it of but soon enough it was the evening and also the beginning of the first event.
So says the maid and also assistant who barged in their room claiming that she was here to help them get ready for the dinner.
"Sofia! Sofia come look at the dresses Maria brought for us!" Rivers voice calls onto Sofia. Sofia makes her way towards Rivers room with a sad expression but she hides it behind a smile
Walking to the room she was met by two girls, River and Maria gushing over two dresses.
"Look! Look Sofia, this one is yours." She shows Sofia a dark blue dress that had a small waist, a built in corset and a large skirt. It was pretty but it seemed too much for Sofia.
She could only imagine how uncomfortable the dress would be. It would probably leave red marks on her sensitive skin.
"Hurry up girls and get dressed the dinner is in an hour."
With a tight smile Sofia takes the dress and heads to her room. She really wanted to please River by trying the dress but just feeling it's heavy form made Sofia cringe. She instead dropped the dress on the bed careful not to cover Cookie the rabbit's sleeping form. She reminded herself to feed him, maybe she could take him to dinner with her.
She pulled out one of her favourite dresses from her bag, it was a plain and simple baby pink dress that was slightly smaller on the waist but flowed beautifully. The dress was thin and the material was soft making it the perfect dress for Sofia. That was how it earned it's title as favourite.
She put the dress on and wore loose white pumps. With her hair she just brushed the mess and tried her best to calm it.
Once she was done, her hair combed to the best of her ability which wasn't much since she rarely ever brushes it. She hurriedly puts Cookie into her pocket gently and securely.
She steps out of her room and saw River fully dolled up in her beautiful forest green dress that hugged her curvy body but was also modest. Her face was lightly caked with make up that consisted of painted lips and lengthened eyelashes.
Maria was tying Rivers hair into a bun, finishing her look. Sofia thought she looked gorgeous as she always does.
"I'm ready!" Sofia announces catching the girls attention.
She looked like her innocent beautiful self and that was something no on could change.
"You look lovely Sofia but why didn't you wear the dress. It was specifically picked out for you." Maria says softly hoping not to upset her. She really would have liked Sofia to wear the first dress.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't like the way it felt. It's a nice dress though and I'm sure some other lady would love it." She said softly slightly guilty for not just sucking it up and just putting the dress on.
With a sigh Maria nodded.
After a few final touches and a whole lot of begging for Sofia to put on some make up just to brighten her look they were finally done and Sofia still remained without make up, her freckles the ones brightening her face instead.
