OCC 12 : That Kiss Though

"This is incredible! Did you do all these stuff?" Cades asked as she entered the dry lagoon. Her parents are here together with her friends. Everyone is here except for one person she came here for.

Kyle.

I made it sure that Kyle is not coming here. I know he is trouble. Cades is enjoying her party and I don't want it ruined because of him. I also made sure that I will be with Cades when she nears Zach. I don't know but I felt protective on her. Zach is a very mysterious man. I don't know what he will do to Cades now that she is turning 17.

"Hey sweetie," Mrs. Harper neared us and gave a quick kiss on Cades. Cades was really happy to see them. I can see that she is shocked at the same time delighted because they're all here.

"Mom, What are you doing here?" She asked them.

"Don't you want me to be in your birthday? That's odd for someone like you. You want us to be always by your side when you have your birthdays." She grins and hugs Cades again.

"C'mon let's party!" Hailey shouts. Someone turned the music on and everyone started dancing in the middle with the bonfire. Jessica came to pull Cades. I looked at Cades and she smiled at me.

"Thanks Trophy!" She yells as she is being pulled into the music.

I kept laughing while she looks at me. She kept giving me funny faces. Lance, who is just staring at me, pats the side of the log. I pushed myself out of the table and neared him.

"What is it Lance?" I asked. Lance gave me a beer can and I opened it. I sipped once then sat beside him. "Why?"

"I can see that you are happy for Cades." He says while staring at Cades.

"Of course, I did all these for her. Why am I not going to be happy for her?" I let out a stifle laugh once he said that.

"That's not what I mean dude." He nudged my arm and laughed.

"And what does that mean?"

"Nothing." He pushes me up then dragged me going to the dancing girls.

Lance tapped Cades' shoulder then she faced us. Suddenly Lance is nowhere out of sight. The music changes and it started to become a slow music. All of the people cleaned out the bonfire. Cades smiled at me and her eyes indicated that she wants to dance. I pulled her close to me and placed both of her hands on my shoulders while I encircle my hands around his waist. We danced slowly while the music plays.

"Thank you Topher for this." she thanked while she place her head on my chest.

"Do you love me now?" I joked.

"I'll kick you." She threatens.

"I'll love you." I don't know why I said that but I hope she took that as a joke or else she might get it in a wrong way.

I feel her tensed and suddenly she stopped swaying. She pulls away and gives me a glare. I don't know what's with that glare but it seems like she's trying to tell me something with that look.

She lets go of my touch and head towards the music and turned it off. "Let's blow the candles." She smiled at all of us but it seems like she is forcing it.

After blowing the candles, I saw the people crowding at the bonfire again. They dance like there's no forever.

Well there is no forever.

I searched for Cades anywhere and saw her at the side watching the others dance. She is just standing there like she's a loner. I neared her and nudged her. She is drinking a beer and smiling at the people.

"What's up Cadence?" I nudged her arm and stood beside her. Zach tried to come near but I gave him a glare. No way in a million years he will come near Cades.

"Do you see that squirrel?" She points below at Jessica's foot. I saw a lost squirrel trying to find its way out of the dancing people. "That squirrel was just here to look for nuts, instead she took that beer can with it."

"Maybe that squirrel is a sober." I kid.

She let out a quiet but obvious laugh, "No, the squirrel placed all the nuts he found inside that can."

"And what's the moral of the squirrel story?"

"He looked for a way to put all what he loves in one place. How can I do that?" Clearly she's drunk.

"like your heart?"

She nods.

I looked at her face. She is laughing at her self right now. She faced me either and neared my face. She closes her eyes and her lips touched mine. I didn't move. I was surprised. After that three second kiss, She fell into my arms and puked all she ate at the floor.

She passed out..

I laughed at her passed out form. Mrs. Harper told me to bring her back to her room and so I did what I was told. Lance promised to clean up after we leave and I trust him with that. I know Lance is not a sober.

"Cades," I whispered as I lay her down the bed. She's exhausted but I can still see the smile in her face. "Cades."

She just shrugged me away. Ugh, I have to change her dress because their's still mess in her dress after she puked. Never say never?

I made her sit down even if she's sleeping already. I slowly unzipped her dress and take it away. I took a fresh shirt and also sweat pants from her bag and made her wear it. I know tomorrow she'll freak out because of what I did but I can explain.

All I keep on reminiscing is the kiss. She kissed me, on the lips. This changes everything I said to myself. I can't believe she kissed me. Well, I did carry her. She could kiss me because I carried her twice. Wait, is there a second time?

I changed my suit with pajamas and tucked myself in bed with her. She looked peaceful while sleeping. I took my phone out from the bag I used a while ago and saw messages from Zary and missed calls from Lance and Hailey.

I ignored her messages because I know what she meant and I'm not going that far. She accidentally kissed me because she's going to puke. Not because she wants to kiss me.

I called Lance instead because I know Hailey would go gaga over the kiss. I know some of them saw us and I'm also shocked. I dialed Lance's number and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Dude, Are you drunk?!" I am now shocked because I just said a while ago that he is not a sober. What the hell?

"Yeah, But i'm still going to clean up. I promised you that. Besides I just drank a little. Not much" Even when he talk I know he drank too much. Ugh, How can I clean up that place now?

"Okay okay. I have to talk to you." I told him shrugging the clean up problem off.

"Why? is it because of bad sex? Are the both of you good in bed?"

Me eyes popped out. "What the hell Lance! This is not Birthday Sex! I'll kill you when we meet!"

He laughed at the other line of the phone. "Okay okay, So what's the problem?"

"I felt something when she kissed me."

"Dude, You're in love!"
