OCC 15 : My Girlfriend, Cadence

[A/N: This happened after Topher left Cades to buy coffee.]

I don't know if I should tell Topher that Zach was the one who kissed me. I'm not sure it's him because he never told me. I'm not even sure if it was him because I was shocked that Zach, TheZachCohen, Kissed me. His sister, Zary, I knew she liked Topher. Heck, I'm confused.

Confession, I'm confused with my feelings. I don't know if it's Topher or if it's Zach. I can't choose because they're both my bestfriends and I can't be in love with a best friend.

I stare down the pond and saw my image. Ugh, I don't know why he even kissed me. He even pushed me on the wall just to press his lips on mine. I thought he was better than that. If he really do like me, Why be afraid to tell me?

"Cades," I thought Topher called me so I faced back and surprised to see Zach. "Cades, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't mean to. I was drunk. I... I don't—"

"Tell me. Why did you do that?"

"Because... Because I like you. And I want you but when the time I saw you kiss Topher, I was heartbroken. I didn't know what to do..."

"If you're drunk, You never have to do that." I reprimand.

"I told you I was drunk..."

"So if you're drunk you're going to show your true feelings to me? In what way? In that kind of way? You nearly made me have an heart attack. I was scared. If you think Liking you is a good idea, At least show me that you are worthy. You're not supposed to be hurting me, Zach. You pushed me on the wall."

"I..."

I can feel tears streaming down my eyes. "If you're a good friend, You are not going to risk our friendship over some feelings."

"I don't want to settle for friendship, Cades..." He tried to take hold on me so I shrugged him away but then his grip is stronger so I can't let go. "I want you."

"Are you insane? I know you're a good guy, Zach. This time, I don't think so. You're being a lunatic. Get off me!"

He knelt down and hugged me. I tried to get off but he doesn't want to let go.

"Stand up Zach. Don't make a scene." I pulled Zach up. He wiped the tears that formed into his face.

"Please, By any chance... Would you accept me?" I shook my head at his offer. He's kidding me right? "Cades?"

"You look like an emotional wreck. Stop this or else I'll call the cops. Clearly, You're still drunk."

"No..." Before he could continue his sentence, I cut him off.

"... Just go Zach, I don't need you here." I pleaded

"Please let me explain. I'm sorry I did that. I'm drunk, I don't know what the hell is wrong with me."

"hey Zach, What are you doing?" I was stunned to hear Topher's voice. "What's up with you hurting Cades?"

"He's not hurting me Topher, He's just about to leave." I faced Topher and one thing hits me, I should hug Topher so he will leave.

Gladly it worked, Topher pulled away as soon as he left. He asked me if I was okay and I told him that I am even if it was a lie.

He suggests to bring me somewhere and I gladly took the offer.

(A/N: I know y'all know now that something happened to Topher and Cades after that bridge scene. I just want to show here how Cades felt when Topher kissed her.)

I don't know why but when he kissed me, I thought I'm safe. Those lips pierced to mine. I wanted to pull away but then I was surprised because I replied to that kiss.

Minutes after, The beer kicked in making me sleep.

"Cades,"

Your love is my drug...

"Cades!"

I suddenly jolt up only to see Topher beside me. We are still outside the car. Topher stood up and offered me a hand.

"Let's go now, We have to leave. Our days here is over."

I stood up with my hand connected with him.

Confession 2: What the hell is happening to me? Why am I suddenly overreacting with his touch? And second, Why the hell did I respond to his kiss? Is that a drunk person's kiss?

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"We're going back to Minesotta." Minesotta is our town. The place where my house is built. Somehow I don't want to go back. Why? Because suddenly everything is making sense here in this resort.

"Too soon." I whispered to myself. I guess he didn't hear what I said but I didn't care.

"We're going to the hospital first. I'm going to visit Grandma." Topher announced as he starts the car. I can see that he is having headaches. I guess I do too. "By the way, Last night..."

"It's fine." I cut him off. I don't want to reminisce our drunken kiss.

"What I mean was, I heard you say Zach's name when you... Uh.. We kissed." The last phrase seems like a whisper to me.

"Zach? Why would I say Zach's name?"

"You're having nightmares of him. You even said, 'Zach, Let me go!'" I remember, He was strangling me and I can't let go. He was trying to kiss me but I swear I can't let myself to do it.

"It's just a nightmare..."

"I'm sorry I kissed you." He says. He is still focused on the road. He parks the car beside and faces me who is just sitting beside him. "I didn't mean to, It just happened."

"I know." Well, I kissed you back so that makes us even.

"I should've not done that, you and I made a promise about the carrying and kiss thing." He says with a worried tone. Seriously, I don't care about that stupid promise. I don't know why also.

"Topher," I touched his shoulder which made him shrug. I just decided to take it off. "It's fine. I don't really care."

"Thanks anyways." He says going back to driving.

When we arrived, He ushered me to his Grandma's room. His Grandma lies down peacefully in the bed.

When she heard our presence, She opened her eyes. Only to found Topher standing in front of her. "Hey Grandma." Topher greets.

"Good morning Christopher. Who's the lovely lady?" Lovely lady? I look like a mess!

"Oh," He motioned me to stand beside him. Suddenly, He took my hands and entwined it with his fingers. "This is my girlfriend, Cadence Harper."
