Cadence Harper
"Cades? Where are you? Can you go to our coffee place tonight? I have a plan!" Topher's voice irritate me sometimes. I would hate it when he scream on the phone.
"Fine, Better make this plan outrageous or else I'll slap you when I get there." I hung up. I know Topher can be gullible but sometimes he's just annoying.
I headed towards the library of the school and sat on one table. I have to review for the final exams. Three days to go and it's going to be vacation! I'm going with Kyle so I know this vacation would be awesome.
Last day of review then tomorrow is our test. I just hope I pass or else Mom won't allow me to go with my friends.
I took one book from the shelf when suddenly I spotted Kyle on the other side. I quickly crouched down and spied on him. This sounds creepy but I get curious sometimes.
I saw him talking with someone. Wait, I can hear a girl! What the... I slowly walked to the side to see them clearly. When I reached the right side of the shelf, I saw him flirting with the girl. I don't even recognize this girl.
Anger flushed through me. Why should you be angry about him? He's not your boyfriend. I slowly walked pass them, not trying to interrupt their intimate moment and when I did Kyle called my attention. I stared at him, Acting like what he is doing is nothing to me.
He pushed away the girl and rushed to me. "Cades, What are you doing here?" He asked like I shouldn't be here.
"Well, Duh this is the library. This place should be for studying, Not flirting" I don't know why I spat that out.
Kyle let out a nervous laugh, "I'm sorry, Uhm this girl is no one." He reasoned.
The girl's eyes turned into fire, "What?! I thought you like me and you want me to be your girlfriend!" She was raging.
"No I didn't. Who would like someone like you." Well, That hurts for the girl.
I left the both of them fighting there and went back to the table where I sat. I started reading the book I got from that shelf but was halted by Topher.
Topher was sitting across me with a wide grin on his face. I know when he has this grin on his face, he doesn't mean good.
"What?" I spoke.
"Nothing, I saw you back there. Good job rookie" He clapped. I did not know what he meant until Kyle stomped his way out of the library.
"How?"
"I hired the girl to flirt with Mr. Playboy. Now, You just found out that you are liking a douchebag." He leaned forward. "I did that for you to know if you really want to go with that guy."
"What can I do? I already accepted his offer. I can't back out." I leaned back to my chair and started staring at the shelf.
"I know, I know. I only care for you. What if he hurts you again there? What will you do? Walk away like you did? You can't always back away on everything that is happening, Cadence. You have to know if you chose the right thing or not."
I thought about it, "How did you hire her? I thought you were in detention"
"Well... When Zary left, I had the opportunity to leave the room. I saw Kyle through the corridors with that girl. He was hitting on her. When Kyle went in his class, I neared the girl. I made a bargain on her to keep on flirting with him. Kyle, who appears to be a stupid playboy, Fell into my trap. Good thing you saw him."
I smiled, Topher really cares for me. He knows how to open my eyes. "I will still go."
"What?" He looked surprised.
"I will still go to avenge myself. He played with my feelings so I will play with his feelings too. I wish you can help me."
He leaned forward and pinched the bridge of my nose, "that's my girl"

The Exams day came and everyone in my class are nervous. Mr Greene look at us with a devilish grin plastered in his face. I know he's excited about us failing the Exams but hell no.
When I finally received my test paper, I quickly took it then started answering. Let me tell you this, Sometimes I get too excited to answer my test.The bad part in all my tests is the result. I hate seeing my score. If it's high, I'd go crazy. If it's low, I'd go crazy. You know what I mean.
When I'm done, I stood up and walked to Mr. Greene's desk and handed him my paper. He eyed my paper for a while then placed it beside him. Next to pass his/her paper is my seatmate, Nick. Nick handed Mr. Greene his paper then went back to his table. Mr. Greene looked surprised on Nick's paper which made him take my paper and consult both our test papers. I know something is happening.
"Ms. Harper and Mr. Rey, Go to my office now." He commanded. I know something bad happened and I'm scared to know.
I did what I was instructed. Minutes after, Mr. Greene went in the office with our papers with him. He sat across the both of us and leaned forward with arms crossed.
"Mr Rey, Mind to explain why your answers are the same with Ms Harper? Also, Your first sentence in the essay is the same with hers." Nick rised from his seat, looking uneasy with what Mr Greene is implying, "Ms Harper, Did you give your answers to Nick?"
"No Sir. I would never cheat in class." As If I wouldn't.
"Okay Then, I believe you Cadence. I just wish you didn't help him to cheat in class. To you Mr. Nick Rey, I will be giving you your punishment. You will have a deduction in your grades and one day suspension of classes." I almost felt bad for him when suddenly he laughed. Mr Greene and I looked confused.
"Ms Harper, You may leave my room. I need to talk with Mr. Rey Here."
I stood up and left the room.
While walking through the corridors, I spotted Topher.
"Hey Trophy!" I called out.
His gaze turned to me but he didn't reply. He frowned then walked away. What just happened?
