After defeating Rikiya, Ryukyu led Morbius, Nejire, Ochaco and Tsuyu into the Shie Hassaikai Compound to regroup with the main attack force. As they moved through the corridors of the compound, the entire building began to shake. Everyone prepared for a fight as the building stopped shaking.
Morbius: I will go on ahead.
Ryukyu: No, Morbius. We stay together.
Morbius: If we split up, we can cover more ground and end this raid faster.
Nejire: Michael's right. We can help more people faster.
At this point, Ryukyu was hesitant to have her group split up. But as the raid began to drag on, Ryukyu could see that there was no other way around. As the group split up, Morbius went ahead by himself. As he moved through the corridors, he spotted a police unit being pinned down by gun fire. Without hesitation, approached the police unit.
Morbius: Officer, are you alright? What's the situation?
Police Sergeant: We're trying to push into the armory, but the Shie Hassaikai have us pinned down! We can't press forward!
Morbius looked up from cover and surveys the area. The armory was locked down tight with Shie Hassaikai guards shooting at them from inside the armory.
Morbius: Stand back. I will take it from here.
The police unit fell back as Morbius planned out his approach. Not wanting to waste time, Morbius walks out of cover and begins running for the door. As the Shie Hassaikai thugs began firing on Morbius, Morbius transforms himself into a swarm of bats and breaks through the door. The Shie Hassaiaki thugs began to panic as the entire room was flooded with bats. Morbius then transforms back into his regular form and begins attacking the thugs.
Shie Hassaikai Thug: Get him!
Morbius uses his Vampiric speed and strength to take down the thugs one by one. But during the fight, Morbius could feel a sharp pain in his stomach as he dropped to his knees and began vomiting. The Shie Hassaikai thugs took this opportunity and ganged up on him. As the thugs attacked him, Morbius flew into a frenzied rage and attacked the Shie Hassaikai thugs, biting them and drinking some of their blood. When the room was cleared, Morbius manages to regain his composure. Suddenly, Morbius drops to his knees as he begins to vomit once more.
Morbius: What....what is happening to me?
As Morbius slowly gets up, he takes a look a the mirror. To his shock, he finds that his tongue has turned black. Morbius was taken aback by this as he takes a moment to gather his thoughts. It wasn't long before the police unit entered the compound.
Police Sergeant: Are you okay?
Morbius: I'm...I'm fine. The room is secured.
Police Sergeant: Are you sure? You look like hell.
As the police sergeant says this, Morbius fell silent. The only possible explanation for his current condition was the Trigger in Rikiya's blood. Somehow, Morbius was now experiencing the after effects of the Trigger. He came concerned about the long term effects of this.
Morbius: Sergeant...can your men hold the armory?
Police Sergeant: Holding the armory won't be a problem. Thank you for saving our asses.
Morbius: Think nothing of it, officer. We're all doing our part. When I leave, barricade the door.
Police Sergeant: On it.
Morbius then leaves the armory while the police unit holds down the armory. As he moves through the corridors of the compound, Morbius encounters more Shie Hassaikai thugs. Despite his condition, Morbius fought the Shie Hassaikai thugs to the best of his abilities. As he pushed forward deeper into the compound, Morbius could feel the effects becoming worse. Morbius could feel the pain all over his body. He even began to cough blood as he found himself barely able to stand. Eventually, Morbius fights through the pain and keeps going.
Morbius: (I....I can't stop....I...have to keep moving.)
Fighting through the pain, Morbius moves through the corridors, fighting through multiple Shie Hassaikai thugs. Throughout all this, Morbius drinks blood to replenish himself. As the raid begins to drag on, Morbius was attacked by a Shie Hassaikai enforcer. During the fight, Morbius's condition took it's toll on Morbius, allowing the Shie Hassaikai enforcer to gain the upper hand. As the enforcer beats Morbius down, the monster begins to seep out.
Shie Hassaikai Enforcer: When are you Heroes gonna learn?
Morbius: You don't know the half of it...but you are definitely going to learn!
Morbius then lashes out at the enforcer and bites down on his throat. Without hesitation, Morbius begins drinking the enforcer's blood. The enforcer attempts to fight back, but Morbius's grip was too strong. As he continues to drink the blood, Morbius finds his blood lust going out of control. Despite his thirst, Morbius fights back and drops the enforcer. Suddenly, Morbius was attacked by both Toga and Twice.
Toga: Whoa! It's the Vampire!
Twice: The Vampire?! You mean the Living Vampire?! Now that's what I call a score!
Morbius: You're with the League of Villains. What are you doing with the Shie Hassaikai?
Toga: We're just here to have some fun! Hey is something wrong with you? You don't look too good.
Twice: Perhaps it was something he ate! Or drank!
At this point, Morbius found himself in a dangerous situation. With his current condition, Toga and Twice had an advantage over him. Despite this, Morbius didn't back down.
Morbius: I don't know what you're planning, but I will stop you! So says Morbius, the Living Vampire!
Toga: I always wanted to fight a Vampire! This is going to be so much fun!
Twice: If I knew I was going to be fighting a Vampire, I would've brought the stakes and garlic!
In that moment, Morbius prepared to fight against Toga and Twice. Despite his current condition, Morbius would stand his ground.
