Going Out For Ice Cream With Your Crush Is The Best

Today was the day.

Today was the day that Rudy would confess to Mini, his dark, benevolent queen. He would take her out for ice- cream, hang out a bit, then confess. Thankfully, he had Aru, Brynne and Aiden's permission to ask Mini out. He did not bother asking the twins' permission, which caused Nikita to get mad and protest. Oh well.

Rudy took the portal to Mini's house, expecting Mini to be in her kitchen, only to find no one except Hira, who was washing the dishes. Honestly, why can't people just hire servants? It's much easier than having to do all that by yourself!

Hira looked up, startled.

"Oh, hi, Rudy," she said, drying her hands. "Are you looking for Mini?"

"Yeah."

"Well, she's in her room. Just knock."

Rudy climbed up the stairs to Mini's room. When he finally reached it, he knocked.

"Mini?" said Rudy, turning the doorknob, only for the door to be slammed close by Mini with a panicked, "Wait, I don't have a shirt on!"

Rudy felt his cheeks turn warm as he waited. Mini without a shirt on...

He mentally smacked himself for thinking such things.

Not cool and respectful of you, dude, he told himself.

The door opened and Mini's head poked out.

"Hi, come in," Mini said awkwardly, opening the door wide enough. Rudy came in, and instantly inhaled the smell of a pleasant lavender smell. Mini's room was full of books and paper and pens. There were a lot of medical stuff too, like first-aid kits.

"Sorry, I just couldn't stand the heat earlier," said Mini, quickly putting some books in their right places. "Also, it's a bit of a mess in here, so I hope you don't mind."

Rudy smirked at her. "It's fine, sweetheart." Mini rolled her eyes, but she turned bright pink, making Rudy smirk even more. He absolutely loved teasing her and calling her sweet names.

"So, what are you doing here?" asked Mini, sitting on her bed.

"Eh, I was bored, and I wanted someone to hang out with," said Rudy, shrugging, sitting beside her.

"Why didn't you hang out with Aiden? I'm pretty sure he's free today.."

"He's literally super boring, and he said something about helping Aru with her homework," Rudy said, now lying on Mini's bed.

"Oh yeah, she still has homework, and I refused to help her because she needs to learn how to do her homework without my help," said Mini, laughing.

Oh, good heavens, her laugh is precious, thought Rudy.

"Anyway," continued Rudy, "since you're the coolest person in our little group, I decided to hang out with you. Do you have plans today? If not, we can go for ice-cream!"

"No, I don't have plans today," said Mini, smiling.

"Yay! Let's go!"

"Do you mind waiting outside? I'll just change my clothes," Mini added. Rudy nodded. He couldn't help feeling hopeful. Maybe there is a chance that Mini liked him back.

A few minutes later, Rudy and Mini were walking to the park.

"So..." began Rudy, desperately wanting to start a conversation.

"So, what?" said Mini.

Rudy shrugged. "I don't know. Oh, how was your test?" he added.
