Hira slowly step out of the portal leading to Brynne's penthouse. Mini had suggested that she help Brynne for a math exam that was coming up, and Brynne was no doubt going to fail unless they do something. Hira knew that was only, like, 50% part of the reason Mini told her to come here. Not that she minded. She always loved going here, partly because she loved seeing the gorgeous details Brynne's uncle put into it, but mostly because of a certain muscular asura who can cook the best meals ever.
She wandered around, looking for Brynne, and there she was. Sitting on the couch, My Chemical Romance on her tank top. She was laughing at something on her phone, not noticing Hira because she had her earphones on. The sight made Hira's stomach feel that swoopy elevator feeling whenever she sees Brynne. The afternoon light made her features glow more, making her both handsome and pretty. Brynne was always muscular, but somehow the golden light somehow made her even more. . .hot? Hira could feel her body heating up when Brynne finally noticed her just standing there.
"Hira, hey!" she greeted, taking her earphones off. "Couldn't hear you come in, sorry about that."
"Oh, it's fine," said Hira, walking towards Brynne, her body just being in control of her.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! she mentally screamed.
But Brynne, oh, somehow sweet Brynne, hugged her like this was a daily thing. Hira's body was burning, she could practically hear her heartbeat, her blood was rushing; Brynne smelled so good. She always smelled like spices spending most of her time in the kitchen, and somehow also lavender shampoo, and Hira liked that. The hug lasted for more seconds than what was supposed to be a friendly hug, and after they pulled apart she could've sworn Brynne's face was red.
"So, uh, just sit there, I'll get you something to drink," muttered Brynne, gesturing to the couch, before quickly going to the kitchen.
Hira put her bag down, sat down, flustered, pulled out her phone and quickly texted Mini.
Hira:
I HATE YOU SO MUCH THAT WAS THE AWKWARDEST INTERACTION OF MY ENTIRE LIFE💔💔Mini:
1) The most awkward interaction*
2) I love you too and you're welcome.Hira:
She HUGGED me. I hope you accidentally send yourself to the Kingdom of Death.Mini:
Hey, it's a process!Hira:
BYE I CAN'T EVEN TALK TO YOU RN I'M TOO BUSY WALLOWING IN MY EMBARRASSMENTMini:
Good luck! Make sure Brynne studies properly!Hira slid her phone back in her pocket as Brynne came with some lemonade.
She poured some for Hira, then for herself. She sat next to Hira, holding out her glass, and Hira bumped her glass with hers. She took a sip. Hmm. Brynne truly does make the best lemonade. She watched as Brynne took a sip as well. Damn, did her lips look so kissable.Hira shook her head, taking out a book and laying it in front of Brynne. As she heard Brynne groan because she understood they were about to study, Hira quickly realized she did not bring some paper and a pen. How absolutely stupid.
"Hey," started Hira, turning to Brynne. Their eyes met, and Hira ignored her stomach that is literally melting just by the sight of Brynne's hazel eyes. She forced the feeling down and asked her, "You got a pen and some paper? I left mine."
Brynne's eyes seemed to be. . . disappointed? It was confusing to read Brynne's emotions most of the time.
"Oh yeah, let me just get some." Brynne came back, and they finally started.
"So, let's start with. . ."
After atleast two and a half hours, a million "huh"s and "how the hell did that happen"s, two lasagnas, and an iced coffee, they were finally done studying. While Brynne was extremely smart, she was not meant to be in a world full of math.
Hira, herself, was surprised at the amount of self-control she had while studying with Brynne for almost three hours. That meant almost three hours of pushing down urges to kiss Brynne, to just, you know, be normal.
Brynne walked her to the portal, offering her to stay for dinner.
"No, I have some stuff to do over at home, so. . ." said Hira, knowing damn well that was not the reason she couldn't stay for dinner.
"Well, at least take some lasagna," said Brynne, handing her some leftover lasagna, covered in tin foil. Hira gratefully took it, not missing a chance to eat Brynne's superior lasagna, muttering a thanks.
Hira looked up, expecting Brynne to look at something else, but she met Brynne's hazel eyes. There seemed to be so much. . .longing. She hadn't seen that kind of look enter Brynne's eyes ever. Like looking at something she couldn't have. Something that's impossible to get. Hira wanted to look away, but she found that she couldn't. Brynne's gaze was too piercing.
Hira didn't know how it happened. One moment, they were just standing there, staring at each other, then the next, Hira was suddenly kissing Brynne Rao. Brynne's breath was warm and smelled of spices, and kind of minty. She inhaled Brynne's perfume, her shampoo, everything. She. Just. Wanted.
Brynne kissed her back passionately, putting a hand on her waist and another on her face, caressing it. Brynne pulled Hira closer, and that made Hira want even more. She eventually pulled apart from her to kiss Brynne on the neck, knowing that was one of her weak spots. Brynne's hand on her waist stiffened, and she let out a shiver. They kissed again.
Eventually, they fell apart. Silence.
Hira had done something that onlyr certain people can do.
She had stunned Brynne Tvarika Lakshmi Balamuralikrishna Rao into silence. Pure silence. Brynne was staring down at her feet, panting a little.
And of course, Hira being the little scaredy cat she is, she grabbed her lasagna that she set down on a table, muttered an "I gotta go" and never had she ran so fast into a portal before.
