Nanglumababa ako sa aking palad at bumuntong hininga. I stared boringly at my wine glass while I played with it.

People are dancing to the rhythm of the slow orchestra. They were enamored with the situation, whereas I despised it. This scenario has been torturing me for the past two hours, and the boredom is killing me!

"At least keep a straight face, Deira. You shouldn't have come if you're going to frown at every person at this party."

Sinipat ko si Kuya Oliver.

"In the first place, I don't want to be here... You were the reason why I'm like this. So, endure my attitude." I whined.

Bumuntong hininga siya. Hinilot ang sentido parang ang laking problema ng kanyang dinadala. My bitchiness, on the other hand, is a serious issue. Just a single glare from me make them turn around in fear that's why no one is making an effort to talk to us.

"Just smile for tonight, please..."

I pouted and lean on my chair.

"I want to have a vacation in Monaco this summer."

"Deal, now sit up straight and smile, Deira." Aniya ng mabilisan parang nakakita agad ng solusyon sa kanyang problema.

Umopo ako ng maayos at ngumiti ng sarcastiko.

"Is this okay?" I asks him at binaling ang tingin kay Kuya.

Ngumisi siya at napailing. "Brat!"

I stick out my tongue secretly that he will only see.

Sinama ako ni Kuya maglibot upang makipag usap sa mga susunod na ceo ng iba't ibang malalaking negosyo. Tudo ngiti ako habang nag papakilala sa kanila. I also chat with them and we'll proceed to another heir.

Nakipagkamay si Kuya sa isang Chinito. He has quite a body. Not as tall as Kuya but had broad shoulders. He stared at me from head to toe before turning his gaze to Kuya. He extend his hand and I took it after Kuya Oliver.

"Ran, Go, heir of the Go company."

"Oliver Ovalles, heir of the Ovalles Health Hospital."

Hindi pakali ang mata nang Ran na ito at palaging sumusulyap sa akin. Pa ulit ulit niya akong pinagmamasdan hanggang huminto ito sa aking dibdib. My blood started to simmer inside me. If it weren't for our image I would have kicked this guy's balls.

"Girlfriend?" Tanong niya. Nagsalita na rin.

Kuya laugh and waved his hand. Namumula na rin ang mukha nito tila nakita ang pagmashid ni Ran sa aking dibdib.

"No. Ran, this is my sister Deira!" He said emphasizing the word sister.

Nanlaki ang mata ng chinito at may lumabas na ngisi sa kanyang labi.

"Oh! What a relief. Such beauty isn't taken..." He said.

Tumaas ang kaliwang kilay ko.

"Isn't taken, yet..."dugtong ko. At pekeng ngumiti. I just want him to know that I'm not available. So back off!

Humalaklak ang lalaki. He bit his lower lip and sip on his champagne and eyed me maliciously. Kumapit ako sa braso ni Kuya Oliver. How I wanted to punch his face.

Kuya cleared his throat.

"We'll go ahead and great the Velasco's." He remains professional with how he spoke but his eyes said otherwise. He was glaring at him with fire.
