The devil is not a little red man with horns and tail. He can be beautiful. Because he's a fallen angel and he used to be God's favorite.

She sat on the corner of her bedroom. A woman kept on trying to talk to her even when she didn't know her. She tried to tell her to go away but she's still there waiting to be noticed by the little girl.
"Ryujin? Are you okay?" Nayeon, her mother, walked slowly to the 6 years old. She kneels and caresses her head.
Ryujin looked behind her mother. She then pointed at that direction. Nayeon looked back and found nothing which makes her scared a little.
"what do you see?" Nayeon tried to smile. "let's go. I made your favorite food."
Ryujin stood up and follows her mother. The woman she saw earlier blocks her way, folding her arms.
"I want to be friends." She spoke.
Ryujin ignored her and walked past her. She finally sat on the dinner table. Ryujin already saw a plate of food in front of her. She counted the fries exactly 15 pieces, the chicken wings 7 pieces, and the broccolis 5 florets. Any extras, she put it away.
"oh, did I get the fries wrong?" Nayeon asked with a worried face.
"it's okay, mom." Ryujin tolerates her mother. Nayeon replied with a smile.
Ryujin looked up and the woman, again, sat in front of her. Ryujin stopped chewing.
"is there anything wrong?" Nayeon noticed her daughter staring at nothing. Ryujin shook her head.
Their front door opened revealing Jeongyeon, her father.
"sorry, darling. I have a lot to work on." Jeongyeon then sat on the chair right where the woman once sat on. "how's your day, Ryu?"
"friends. Mean." Ryujin finished her food with the last fries. Always. "I don't like friends."
"hm? Did you talk to your teacher?" Jeongyeon got worried.
"teacher don't care." Ryujin drank her warm milk. "teacher mean."
Nayeon and Jeongyeon looked at each other.

A week later, Nayeon took Ryujin to a child psychiatrist.
"good morning. I'm Dr. Hwang." The doctor greeted. She then lowered herself to the same level as Ryujin. "hello." She smiled.
Ryujin didn't like meeting new people. She hid behind Nayeon's legs. The doctor let them in to the room. They all take a seat.
"Jeongyeon told me that your daughter having a hard time socializing." The doctor started. "did you notice any unusual behavior at home?"
Ryujin saw the woman again. Right beside the doctor. She smiled sweetly at Ryujin.
"Ryu?" Nayeon noticed that Ryujin didn't pay attention to them. She looked up at her mother. "you want to play with the blocks?"
Ryujin shook her head.
Dr. Hwang smiled at the child. She then gave her a storybook. Ryujin looked at the doctor then to the book. She took the book and flipped it around. Ryujin took the book and look for some place to read.
"she loves to read." Nayeon smiled at the doctor. "I saw her often looking at something. Every time I asked her, she won't tell me."
"how long have you been noticing this?" Dr. Hwang wrote some notes on the clipboard.
"about a year. I don't know when it started." Nayeon looked around to think. "at first she's just cried all night getting scared at it. I think she's used to it now."
"we'll need some sessions with her. She's not too good with strangers. For her unknown sightings, it could be a form of hallucination. It could be good, could be bad. We'll see further into that." Dr. Hwang smiled at her.
"thank you so much, doc."
Ryujin then came back with the book and put it on the desk.
"did you finished it?" Dr. Hwang asked with a smile. Ryujin nodded.
"eleven." Ryujin said. That gained a look from the two adults. "I want books."
"you want eleven books?" Nayeon asked. Ryujin nodded. "okay, we'll buy them after this."
"you like numbers, Ryujin?" Dr. Hwang asked her with a smile. She nodded.
"odd."
"you like odd numbers? Why?" the doctor got curious. Ryujin shook her head. "alright then. See you, Ryujin."
-
This is the third time Ryujin and her mother went to the doctor. Nayeon noticed that Ryujin is getting more comfortable around Dr. Hwang. Just like every session, Nayeon left Ryujin alone with Dr. Hwang in the separate room as she waited in the other side of the room.
"hello, Ryujin." Dr. Hwang greeted. Ryujin immediately busy with some toys on the table. Dr. Hwang noticed that she has a unique way to play with toys.
"hi." Ryujin put the toy car on top of stacks of block. The stack was assembled like a Jenga but with different sizes. One by one, she took the block from the stack. "it will fall."
"yes. If you take the blocks from there, the car will fall." Dr. Hwang smiled as she wrote something on her clipboard.
"she said it's a good thing if it fall. It will be fun." Ryujin took one more block before the stack collapsed. "it is."
"it's a toy. It's supposed to make you happy." Dr. Hwang helped her picked up a block from the floor. "who is she?"
"a friend." Ryujin replied plainly.
"hm... is she nice?"
Ryujin nodded. She then put the blocks aside.
"do you have any friends at school?" Dr. Hwang started to take some anamnesis from the child.
"school friends, bad. She, good." Ryujin swings her legs looking down.
"does she have a name?"
"Siyeon." Ryujin looked up at the doctor.
"did you give her the name?"
Ryujin nodded. She then walked to the bookcase and picked out a storybook. Ryujin put the book on the table.
Dr. Hwang read the book. There's a character named Siyeon on it. She is the bestfriend of the main character. She follows him everywhere. Sad or happy, and even when he did right or wrong, she's there with him.
"that's a good name."
