HEAL ME (RYEJI)

CHAPTER 15

Ryujin arrived at Jeongyeon's funeral. She walked towards the coffin; her father laid peacefully on it. Pulled out her camera and took a picture of him. People started looking at her weirdly. Not that she cares.

"that's inappropriate." Yeji whispered beside her.

"he's my dad." Ryujin then walked to Nayeon on a wheelchair. She kissed her head and smiled.

"will you sleep at home?" Nayeon asked. "It's a bit lonely."

"I will." Ryujin then looked at the person holding the wheelchair. "who are you?"

"I'm Taehyung. Dr. Hwang asked me to take care of her while you're away." He smiled.

"okay." Ryujin then watched Yeji walked over to Dr. Hwang. She ignored them.

At last, the coffin lowered to the ground. Ryujin watched Nayeon cried at the sight. Ryujin didn't bother to shed a tear. She looked at her watched because it feels like forever standing beside her father's grave. Thoughts on her head filled with the heritages and what to do with them.

After the people left, only Ryujin, Taehyung, and Nayeon stayed.

"let's go." Ryujin walked first to the car.

Taehyung asked Nayeon first before following Ryujin to the car. Nayeon sat on the back while Ryujin and Taehyung on the front. They drove home in silence.

Upon arriving, Ryujin asked Taehyung to park the car properly before helping her mother into the house.

"how much did you pay him?" Ryujin asked Nayeon. They sat on Nayeon's bed.

"he didn't ask for much so I gave him $20 each visit." Nayeon smiled. "he's a nice guy. I hope you have a partner like him."

"partner?" Ryujin scoffed. "I don't like guys. I do have someone in mind, though."

"oh... well... as long as you're happy." Nayeon smiled and put her hand on Ryujin's cheek.

"I am happy. You're still here. don't leave me, okay?" Ryujin fixed her glasses. Gave her mother a stern look.

"I will try my best to stay alive."

"good." Ryujin then stood up. "I have a meeting this evening. You'll be okay with Tae, right?"

"I will. Don't come home too late."

Ryujin arrived at her office. Chaeryeong greeted her with a smile.

"the files are ready. In about twenty minutes, Mrs. Choi will arrive. She just called."

Ryujin just nodded at her. she then looked at the files for the meeting.

"she'll be doomed."

"yes?" Chaeryeong thought that Ryujin was talking to her.

"I see that they didn't have enough money for us. Should I buy her company?" Ryujin didn't think much this time.

"I don't think that's a good decision, miss." Chaeryeong gave her another file. "there will be no advantages for us."

"hm..." Ryujin read the file thoroughly. "well then. I'll decide after the meeting."

So, the meeting started. Ryujin sat on one of the chairs waiting or the rest of the people.

"good evening, everyone. I will start the meeting today regarding collaboration of our company and Mrs. Choi's company." One of Ryujin's employees started.

Ryujin stayed silent along the meeting since she knew everything about it. After Chaeryeong, Jin, the man who started the meeting, is one of the best employees that Ryujin got. At the end of the meeting, Ryujin raised her hand.

"so in conclusion, Mrs. Choi couldn't fulfill what's in the contract. Therefore, she has to be responsible or our loss. Look at the previous chart." Ryujin gave Jin a sign to change the slide. "there were some ups on the chart but, from the last three months, a lot of downs has been made. What are you going to do about it?"

"I will make adjustment to our systems and strategy to fix the loss." One of Lia's people said.

"three months is a long time for you to fix it. When you see the loss in the first place, you should be able to fix it right away." Ryujin fixed her glasses. "I'm disappointed."

"we're sorry for-"

"we'll finish the meeting here. Lia, let's talk." Ryujin stood up, bowed to them and left.

"hey." Lia sat in front of Ryujin.

"so... what's your offer?" Ryujin said as she read some file she held. "I can do a lot in three months. What have you done?"

"I um... I tried my best to fix the loss but I can't seem to figure it out." Lia leaned in. "please don't add more interest. The previous ones are already hard for me to pay."

"well... you seduced me last time. I gave you time. A lot of time. I can easily help you but since you're the one that needs me, it's on you." Ryujin fixed her glasses. "I'll visit your company next month. I wanna know what's wrong with it."

"so you wanna give me more time?" Lia's eyes filled with hope.

"until next time, Lia. You can leave."

Lia sighed. She stood up and gave Ryujin one last look before leaving.

"Chae." Ryujin called her. "I won't be here until next month. I have things to take care of."

Ryujin got busy in her study room. she focused herself on how to give Lia a lesson. She thought that Lia underestimated her. Hawk accompanied her, sleeping beside her.

"miss." Taehyung's voice was heard outside the room. "Mrs. Yoo called."

Ryujin got up and opened the door. Walked past Taehyung, she went to Nayeon's room.

"yes?" Ryujin sat beside her on the bed.

"I want Taehyung to take care of you after I'm gone." Nayeon smiled a little. "I taught him what he needs to know."

"huh? You want him to be my babysitter?" Ryujin chuckled and caressed Nayeon's head. "I can take care of myself, mom. It's a waste of money."

"I just don't want you to be alone. You can make him your assistant, butler, or whatever you like." Nayeon paused to think. "don't kill him though."

"now that I can't promise."
