CHAPTER 38

Eunwoo finally released from prison. He's a freelancer now and just dependent on his father's heritages.

A knock was heard on his door. Eunwoo rubbed his eyes and opened it.

"good morning."

Eunwoo froze. Ryujin stood in front of him with neat suit. She's actually on her way to work but planned on stop by Eunwoo's place.

"ah... come in." Eunwoo made a way for Ryujin. "a bit early isn't it?"

"oh, I'm not here for long, I just wanted to check on you." Ryujin calmly sat on the couch and smiled at him.

"I'm good. No need to waste your time." He's kind of pissed off at her. she's able to get away with murders all her life but he got caught the first time he did his crime.

"you need a job?" Ryujin went straight to the point.

"no. I planned on taking my company back."

"I'm afraid that won't be possible. Your father sold the company to me two years ago. He said that you need to learn a lesson." Ryujin fixed her glasses.

"you took Yeji from me and now my company too? Don't ever think you deserve this, you sick fuck." Eunwoo glared at her.

"the prison really changed you, I guess." Ryujin just smiled at him. "the position for CEO is already taken. If you want to apply and replace the current CEO, you can come to me with your documents. This is an offer."

"so I work for you?" Eunwoo scoffed. "not in a million years, Ryujin."

"if you see it that way, it's up to you. I can see that this is our chance to work together." Ryujin leaned forward. "I don't see you as an enemy. That's it. I'm giving you a chance to get up, go on with your live."

Eunwoo in fact, saw this as an opportunity. He's just too prideful to accept her offer.

"I think you should leave. I don't think this is the right time for us to talk." Eunwoo calmed down a little.

"alright, then. Just come to company. No need to call." Ryujin the stood up and left.

Yuna visited Yeji for the first time after the day they went to the fair. Yuna was so busy working for Lia's company, helping it to get better.

"why are you so smiley?" Yuna raised her eyebrow. She then checked Yeji's temp to make sure she's mentally healthy.

"I'm not sick." Yeji chuckled. "she's back. I'm happy."

"oh no..." Yuna think of this as a negative. "so she's back being abusive and violent? Like she started to hurt you again?"

"no! she's even better now. Like, the mix of her old self and her new personality. I like it. She might be a little rough but she's able to control it now." Yeji sighed. She then proceeds to tell her bestfriend how she got her memory back.

"are you sure? I'm still worried." Yuna pursed her lips.

"you wanna visit her?" Yeji wiggled her eyebrows. "act like you know nothing. I wanna see her reaction." Yeji giggled.

"you wanna use me as a sacrifice?" Yuna leaned back and held her chest. "okay. If she does anything, I'll sue you."

Yuna braved herself. The next day, she went to meet Ryujin. She pushed the bell to Ryujin's penthouse. Somi opened the door for her and let her in.

"she should be home in around ten minutes. Suit yourself." Somi smiled at her.

"oh... okay."

While waiting for Ryujin, her heart beats faster as time goes by.

"Jeon Somi. Do you want some luxurious burgers and fries?" Ryujin haven't noticed Yuna. She greeted Somi with her playful manner. She then finally looked at Yuna.

"oh hey there. I remember you." Ryujin smirked and fixed her glasses. "we had fun last time didn't we?"

Yuna didn't know what to do. She's scared. Ryujin walked over to her, leaning down making their face closer. Ryujin put her hand on Yuna's neck, eyeing her up and down.

"Ryu... don't." Somi took the paper bags that Ryujin brought.

Ryujin stood up properly and laughed at Yuna. She took off her suit and sat beside her.

"you should've seen your face. It was hilarious." Ryujin then turned on the TV. "you're really scared aren't you?"

Yuna huffed and punched Ryujin a few times. Ryujin covered her face with her arms.

"her joke is too much sometime." Somi giggled at them.

"oh my god." Yuna's still composing herself. "you can give someone a heart attack with that."

"I won't do that to elders. They surely will die." Ryujin shrugged. "what's up? Why are you here?"

"I kinda don't trust you. Yeji told me that your memories are back so I'd like to see for myself." Yuna explained.

"you don't need to worry. Those guys probably tortured my psychotic brain away." Ryujin chuckled. "I'm glad though. I feel a little guilty. At least I can fix my life from now on."

"I'm glad too." Yuna sighed. "alright, I gotta go to work."

"already?" Ryujin stood up, following Yuna. "I'll take you to work. I want to see Yeji too."

Ryujin finally arrived at Yeji's apartment. She should be home by now. She didn't hesitate to come in right away.

"Yeji..." Ryujin called out. She looked at the two women sitting on the couch. "oh, Dr. Hwang. Sorry to interrupt. I'll be waiting outside."

Yeji and her mother looked at each other.

"it's okay, Ryujin. It's kind of the right time. We just talked about something." Dr. Hwang asked her to join them.

Ryujin sat down beside Yeji, giving them a little space.

"I actually wanted to talk to you in the more appropriate time but you came in so suddenly. I can just say this to you now." Dr. Hwang looked at both of them. "I've seen that you guys made a lot of progress for years especially Yeji. I heard from her that you already gained your memory back and I'm happy for you. Seeing you right now, I feel like you also learned some good manners and better attitudes. This is a hard decision for me to make." She paused. "I will give you permission to take care of my daughter. Hopefully I still have time to see my grandchild."

"did I hear that right, ma'am?" Ryujin leaned forward. "I just have a thought to kidnap her. I'm glad you allowed us to be together now."

"you what?" Dr. Hwang exclaimed. "I take back my words."

"oh. I'm just joking, ma'am. I'm sorry." Ryujin giggled. "thank you, ma'am. I know I might not be perfect but I will take a good care of Yeji." Ryujin reached for Yeji's hand.

"alright then. My job here is done. You both are adults and I believe you can take care of yourself." Dr. Hwang stood up. "let me know the date."

"the date?" Ryujin asked.

"she wants me to getmarried already." Yeji whispered to Ryujin.
