::: January | Saturday :::

The morning, Satellite visited the Michaels women home, bearer of great news. Knocking on their door, he stood back with a bright smile and ran his hand over his best shirt. He had gotten it from the 'A Helping Hand' center June had suggested him visit, he felt like a brand new man. . . which he was about to be.

June answered the door. "Morning, Satellite."

"Mummy," the homeless man greeted with that large grin. "Mi come fi seh thanks again."

"For?"

"Me manage fi meet the welder yu friend set the link wid," he announced. "Me get a work in Clarendon."

June smiled as brightly as the man before her. Fresh, happy tears rushed to her eyes. "Congrats, Satellite!"

The man could sense that her words were genuine. It made him happier. "Cudn do dis widout yu."

"Yu need anything? Likkle money or food fi the journey?" June hadn't even ate breakfast as yet. She was too busy lazying in bed and thinking about-

Satellite shook his head and held his radio tighter in his hand. "No, Mummy. The person understand mi situation and seh dem have a place me can stay. Mi just need fi worry boh getting mi own food and dem wi cover all other bills until mi back on mi foot. Me wi tough it out."

June nodded. "Mi really happy fi yu, Satellite."

"Thanks again, Mummy. Mi come fi shake yu hand now and when me see yu again me hope me can offer more than a 'thanks' fi all you and Miss May eva do fi me."

June couldn't wipe the smile off her face. She'd never felt more happy for a person than she did him right now. Satellite deserved all the world's greatest fortunes. He was a good man.

"All the best, Satellite," she shook his calloused hand.

Giving the woman a nod and equally contagious smile, he left. Stopping before Tasha's house, he shook his head. To June, it would appear as if the man was thinking: 'Look how me did a plan fi mek a likkle house and smaddy rob me of dat opportunity. Guess e saying did true - as one door close, a next open.'

Going back inside, June started breakfast so her mother and son could get something to eat. While she cooked fried breadfruit, boiled dumplings and ackee, her mind drifted to Kellon in a positive light. . . Mi need fi tell him thanks.

Her phone rang and she grabbed it. "Day deevn light good," she joked with her cousin.

"Yea, yea, whatever," came her cousin's jovial tone. "Yu bathsuit a done today."

"Fi real?" June felt as if her day was getting better and better.

"Mhm," Jade answered. "Me a go the Saanvi branch a Ochi round eleven o'clock if yu waa come."

June glanced at the clock on the wall. "Okay but mafi see if Mommy have nun fi do first. Remember I have Zach."

"Right. Just shout me then," Jade ended the call.
