After Mipha had healed her, she and Zelda departed back to Zora's Domain, Sidon in tow.

They exchanged a few words, with the hylian princess trying her best to not reveal too much.

"So, he runs off often then, eh?" Zelda asked, giggling a little bit and patting the young prince on the head.

Sidon walked in between them, holding onto his sister's hand. He giggled at her gesture.

"He sure does," Mipha sighed, looking down at her brother.

"This might be a strange question to ask, but you haven't exactly told me who you are yet," the zora said. "If you don't mind me asking, I'd love to know who my brother's rescuer is."

Zelda's breath hitched.

"Me? Oh, I'm nobody," the princess of Hyrule replied.

"Don't be ridiculous," Mipha said in the nicest way possible, "You saved my brother, you're not a nobody."

It was clear she wasn't intent on dropping the subject.

"Right um...I'm...Paya," Zelda managed to stutter.

It's alright, she won't be born for another hundred years anyways. The princess thought to herself.

"Well then, Paya, I thank you for your service," the zora said with a smile.

Zelda nodded and silently tried to stifle a laugh at hearing her shekiah friend's name in place of hers.

After returning to Zora's Domain, the princess scanned the town square for her knight's familiar face. Silently praying he hadn't left yet.

Much to her relief, the hylians were still there, conversing with the zoras.

Among them, the younger Link. He was running about with some of the littler zora children.

Mipha didn't seem to notice him at first.

After the calamity, Link had told Zelda of the zora's hidden affection for him, even going as far as to craft him wedding armor with the intent on proposing.

Yet, the princess held no ill will towards her. In fact, she was grateful for it. Without her love of the knight fueling and motivating her in battle, she would have offered a less powerful retaliation against the calamity.

The malice probably thought it could get away with slaying or destroying Mipha quick enough to miss her first meeting with Link.

History and it's events would have been altered.

"Say, uh..." Zelda began, pointing towards Link, "look at that hylian over there!"

There was a light pang in her heart as she spoke.

At her words, the zora looked ahead and her eyes immediately locked onto the little chestnut haired boy running around the domain.

"Why do I feel like this? The course of events would be altered if I didn't act." Zelda scolded herself internally.

"I should be ashamed of myself. Mipha didn't even get to live the rest of her life, I have no right to..."

"Wow... his skills with that sword are incredible." Mipha's words interrupted her thoughts.

Zelda zoned back into the moment, and saw that Link was now play-fighting with the zora children. He was batting his wooden sword at them, twisting, parrying, and using techniques he still used in the present.
