Lil head cannon of mine bout Danse, Cait, and MacCready

Part 1 of 2

Ya'know, when ya get the order from Maxson to kill Danse, Cait and MacCready are the only ones who don't like the idea of saving Danse, or at the very least, are wary of saving a man who could kill them at the snap of a finger. I can respect that.

But I'd like to think that if you save Danse and he spends more time with the others, in this case, Cait and Mac, they'll teach each other their skills.

Like it's pretty much accepted that Danse will do any type of training if given the chance so I can see him and Cait tussling it out. Who knows if they are fighting or training. And no, I don't see either of them ever hooking up with one another so this is completely platonic.

Danse may be a bit more skilled and calculating but Cait has a wild side to it all. It's hard to predict a sporadic pattern so Cait would have the first few session under her belt but this would force Danse to learn and adapt to change his fighting strategy.

He would lose the way of the Botherhood of Steel training and develop his own style of training. A mix of BoS formal training and Caits 'commonwealth' training.

This would help him accept that he is his own person, this is his doing not the institutes or BoS. Some unintentional confidence/morality/finding his identity boost.

And I can totally see the two of them being tied for who has the most rounds against the other. Yeah at first Cait had the upper hand but Danse learned fast, he could react quicker to her so he began to gain the upper hand. Then it would level out and they both would be tied, whoever at the time had the upper hand would tease/boast the ever-living hell out of the other.

Ya can also bet your fucking ass that Cait started the first few sessions. The first time Cait did such, she was bored and with no one else who she would ever consider even close to her skill in combat, she went after Danse. Asked him and he agreed cause it was better than fixing an already perfect suit of power armor.

And then after a few more sessions and her getting more comfortable around him, she would begin to surprise attack him, claiming that the Commonwealth attacks at random to justify her actions. Danse would soon be able to build up the trust to ask her to train together.

At first, Danse went soft on her, she knew it, she'd seen him in combat before. Cait hated that so she made sure to tell him that if they did this again to not go easy on her simply cause she's a woman. A very stern conversation while she essentially beat the living hell outta him.

After expecting that she was willing to take his punches head-on, those two headstrong fellows would go at it until one was either about to pass out or this training got a little too intense, blood was bound to be spilled unless Danse had requested some more specific training, eg-agility or endurance. Otherwise, the two would just train in the ways of flipping each other over and throwing punches.

They don't say it but everyone else notices that the two seem laxer around each other and definitely enjoy their training sessions.

So there's the end of that, Sorry if that seemed all over the place or something was repeated, this was all made on a quick whim at midnight lol.

Lil head cannon of mine bout Danse, Cait, and MacCreadyPart 2 of 2

Ya'know, when ya get the order from Maxson to kill Danse, Cait and MacCready are the only ones who don't really like the idea of saving Danse, or at the very least, are wary of saving a man who could kill them at the snap of a finger. I can respect that.

This one is probably gonna be shorter/less exciting than Cait but whatever, I'm still gonna write it out.

So on top of basic hand-to-hand combat with Cait and various other forms of handheld weapon combat, Danse also likes to train in guns. Though based on what I've seen with him, he goes in guns blazing, spewing all that "for honor, for glory!" Crap.

Danse is more 'skilled' in running in and shooting without a second thought and blowing their cover while MacCready is more skilled in settling down and stalking his victim and keeping his cover as hidden as possible.

For once, it was Danse who approached Mac and asked him to help train in sniper and far ranged guns. Mac was definitely apprehensive about it all but gave in when Danse offered up some caps in exchange.

While Mac was quicker and quieter with loading and shooting, Danse was slower and louder, often getting impatient whenever MacCready took him out on a hunting trip. Annoyed that he could do this or that.

It took a while for Mac to get use to seeing Danse out of his beloved power armor when training, after all, it is pretty hard to stealth around when every step you take sounds like a rusty wheel grinding against a chalkboard.

It took a lot of hunting trips and a few close calls before Danse could get on a level that Macready was proud of.

And no, no amount of caps would convince Mac to help assist in aiming for Danses rifle. Nope, none at all. He was not going to get that close to him.

Though it was obvious that Danses wouldn't be reaching the skill level as Mac, Mac gave back the caps Danse paid him and said he was just glad to know that if Danse wanted to take him out, he could expect a face to face situation.

Yeah definitely shorter than Cait, I'm not a gun nut though so I can offer up much on talking about guns and their specific components, all I care about is how much damage it does and what its legendary effects are.
