the next morning cassidy went on her run, running past many houses all with no lights on. on her way back she noticed a light on in one of the windows in a lovely old house and she wondered who else was up at this peculiar hour. she pushed it aside as she entered her own house. she noticed a slip of paper on the counter and went over to read it. she scoffed at what her father had scribbled down, letting her know that he had left for work while she was out. she left the kitchen and started to get ready. finding out a jumper, shirt and skirt from her rather large wardrobe.

she realised the time and rushed downstairs, she grabbed a granola bar and stuffed it into her bag as her lunch

she realised the time and rushed downstairs, she grabbed a granola bar and stuffed it into her bag as her lunch. she went outside so she could get into the car that was waiting for her. or should have been waiting for her. when she got out there was no car parked in the driveway. or out on the road. she checked the time and saw she had around 25 minutes to get to school before it would be classed as late. she decided on taking her skateboard to school since it would be the fastest way possible. she grabbed it from just inside the door and put in her airpods to call her dad.

he didn't pick up.

cassidy made it to school just in time. she walked into her home room, skateboard in hand, a couple people looking at her, but she brushed it off and went and sat down at her seat. as she did so, ava turned to her and watched her in awe as her hair swayed as she sat down.

"you're so cool!" ava gawked

"thank you"  cassidy said as she decided that if ava was going to be so nice and flush her with complements that she may as well take them. what? sometimes she just needed someone who was genuinely interested in her. and from what it looked like, cassidy had just found the perfect girl.

"do you think i could sit with you at break?" cassidy asked ava in her most sugary sweet tone, giving her a wide smile

"really?! you would want to?!" ava looked shocked

"yeah, why wouldn't i?"

"of course you can sit with me. and my friends. oh my god they are gonna love you!" the girl gushed. and with that cassidy now had a friend and hopefully some more on the way.

"hey is that the girl you were staring at yesterday?" charlie nudged his brother. sam turned and looked, and to his surprise he saw cassidy moss riding a skateboard to school, her hair blowing behind her.

"eh er yeah actually that is"
