It was nearing Christmas break and it was safe to say that the whole of StonyBrook was preparing for the festive time. The sun was setting earlier, it was getting colder and Cass felt herself getting into her least favourite time of year once again.

The girl was currently sat on the sofa of the Thomas-Brewer household with Sam. Throwing and catching gummy bears in each other's mouths, just enjoying each other's company. The two had only spent more and more time together, both in and out of school. You hardly saw them apart.

"Cassidy," Karen started politely as she walked a few feet in front on the two teens

"Yes, Karen?" Cassy paused from her game of catch

"Is your house having work done to it?"

"No, not that I know of"

"Then why are you still here? You have been here for the past three days, go back to your own house" Karen said sternly to the older girl, causing her to break out into giggles at the little girls outburst.

"Karen you can't say that!" Sam, shocked, raised at her

"I'm just telling the truth" she scowled and walked away again

"damn, she's sassy" Cassy chuckled out

"Tell me about it." Sam finished. The two then decided to continue watching the Harty Potter films as that has been what they have been doing the past few days. They managed to get through a good half hour of it without being interrupted again. This time by Elizabeth.

"Hi hunnys!" she said dumping her groceries on the kitchen island.

"Hey mom"
"Hi mrs T"

"Oh good, Cass, you're still here"

"Yup, as always"

"Perfect, I have a question for you"

"Okay, shoot"

"Now, I don't know your family's usual plan is for Christmas, but here we're having a big dinner, watching movies, eating a ton of candy. And I was wondering, because I know how busy your parents are, if you would like to spend it with us?" When Liz asked this, it sent Cassy's mind back to all her pass Christmases. Weather it was one's her parents had forgotten, ones she spent the whole day posing and talking photos for or ones where it was full of nothing but hurtful comments and criticism. It all came to her right then. Then, deciding to push it all away, started to think what it would be like to spend Christmas like how you see it in the movies. How it would be spending it with her favourite person.

"Yeah, actually, I would love to. Thank you."

"Great! I'm so happy you said yes, You're practically part of the family anyway."

After talking to Liz for a little longer, she went away to to help Watson look for more decorations. Their house was already covered in all thing's Christmas, a tree in most rooms, stockings above the fireplace, lights and more. Mabey this Christmas wouldn't be as bad as she thought.

Sam and Cassidy continued watching Harry Potter, The Goblet of Fire, now with Cassy laying against Sam, him with his arm stretched around her back. The boy wasn't even paying attention to the movie. Just sat admiring the girl in his arms, no other thoughts in his head, only her.

"What you thinking about cutie?" she smiled up at him

"Oh nothing, just about this gorgeous girl"

"oh really? and would i know her?"

"Nope, don't think so"

"Well, i bet she's pretty"

"Prettier than you could even imagine"

"Wow, well you must be one really lucky guy, especially since she's thinking about you to"

"Oh yes, I am an insanely lucky guy" The two of them smiled their goothy smiles at each other. Ignoring everything going on around them.

"I really wanna kiss you right now" Sam whispered, afraid that if he were too loud, he would scare this moment away.

"Then do" Cass whispered back as they both started leaning in. slowly getting closer, until they could feel each other's breath against their skin.

"Sam! Stop leaving your socks everywhere!" Kristy shouted to her brother while running down the stairs along with Claudia. Breaking the twos moment.

They stoped at the doorway, "Did we just interrupt something?" she asked, looking between Sam and Cassidy who had now moved their faces away. Sam still sat with his hand around Cassy, but them both looking different ways, "I don't care. Anyways, can you guys believe we only have one week left of school until break? I can't wait"

"Wait it's only one week left?" Cassy raised get eyebrows

"Yup, and you know what that means!" Claudia squealed as her and Kristy sat down on the sofa

"Three weeks off of school?" Sam guessed, still annoyed at his little sister

"Yes, but also the list comes out! I can't wait!" Claudia squealed out again

"I don't understand why you're so excited for it. One, you're not even going to be on it because we're not in high school yet. And two, it's just a horrible way of telling girls how to look. Which, by the way, is not a thing for body positivity! If ranking girls is the only way for boys to have any fun then they must be extremely boring people" Kristy argued

"God, calm down Kristy, it's just a stupid list. Stop getting so worked up about it just because you know that you don't ever stand a chance being on it" Sam teased his sister, smirking as he spoke, causing Cass to smack him with the back of her hand on his chest

"Quit it! leave Kris alone, she's just the female version of you if you think about it"

"ew no, don't put that in my head"

"Shut up, she's gorgeous. You both are." she said smiling at Kris and Claudia

"I bet you're going to be on it Cass," Claudia smiled to the girl she's grown fond of over the past few months, "I mean, you're popular right? You have a ton of friends"

"That's sweet Claud, but i honestly don't care. If you actually care about where you get placed on a list made by two boys in your grade, then you're just pathetic."

"Someone needs to tell Lacy that, It's the only thing she's talked about for the last month" Sam cracked a smile, causing a snicker from Cassidy. The four talked for a bit longer until Claudia and Kristy went back upstairs. The two left alone again, continued with their movie until it was time to go have dinner. Once again, Cassidy ended up staying the night, falling asleep with Sam's arms keeping her close to his chest all throughout the night.
