Two days later

Lucian with his father had been intensely looking for what could be the last letter from Dahlia and which could lead to where his sister is. So the library had been occupied and I was spending most of the time in our bedroom.

Polina and Tobias made up. He came to her the next day and apologised for his behaviour and now they are a happy couple expecting a baby together, but for now it's a secret between us three.

I made my way down to the library where I knew I would find Lucian and went inside.

"Good morning Adria" Lucian's dad nicely greeted me.

"Good morning, where's Lucian?" I asked him as he was going trough books but now not only looking for what could be the last letter but also simply being nostalgic about all the messages he had left in the books for her.

"He went up to his office" Felix said and put a book back in the shelf.

"Okay, thank you" I said and walked back out of the library and towards Lucian's office.

I walked inside and sat down on the couch as Lucian was talking on the phone with someone and seemed really tense.

"Put surveillance on them" he said in a low demanding voice.

"On everyone, his mom, wife, even on the dog if you have to" he growled.

"Just do what you're told or there will be consequences" he said and put the phone down.

"Are you okay?" I asked him just as soon as he had finished the call.

He was furrowing his brows and I could tell he was very tense. And really stressed, this whole situation wasn't good on him, good on us. He's been sleeping very little, and we're gotten in a couple of small fights over all this. I'm just worried about him.

"Everyone's testing my patience today" he growled and sat down on his chair.

"Maybe you should take a break" I suggested and he looked at me confused.

"You know I can't do that Adria. My sister is somewhere out there and I need to find her, I need to put this family back together" he said defensive.

"I know, and I totally understand but Lucian you need some rest, you'll achieve much more when your body will be well rested" I said and was really getting worried about him. You could see his eyes were red, his forehead had imprinted lines on it from how much he furrows the past few days.

"I need to find Layla" he said in a low voice and looked away from me.

"Taking one day off won't hurt you, nor your father nor Layla" I said.

"I'm begging you Lucian, please take a break for one day" I said and he looked over at me. His eyes were cold, his body was tired and was barely holding him up but he was fighting against everything and focusing only on finding his sister.

"You don't know what's best for me" he growled at me.

"Excuse me?" I asked him a little shocked by the way he spoke to me.

"You don't understand Adria. Your family is perfect, together and all happy, you would never understand how this feels" he said.
