Chapter 47

We spent the next few days laying around the house, letting the jet lag leave our system before going out and exploring.

I've never been to Hawaii so I was more than excited to go and explore. Lucian didn't seem like the type that would want to go on early hikes or swim in the ocean past dark but when I asked if he was okay doin those things he agreed. Maybe it was because he was sorry for me or maybe he actually didn't care.

We were having breakfast in our quite small kitchen, but I loved this place it made me feel like we were human, not that we weren't, but ordinary people, who would live in a simple house, no mafia stuff, guns, money, just the two of us.

"Are you sure you want to go hiking with me?" I asked him putting on my shoes.

"It's too late to say no now" he said waiting for me by the door and I looked up at him still tying my shoes.

"I'm kidding, let's go" he said and let me out the door.

The early morning sun beaming on my skin, making me warm and the salty smell of the sea was just what I needed.

We got into the car and took off. It was weird seeing Lucian in simple clothes I wasn't even sure if he had any.

We drove a convertible of course, my hair was brushed trough the wind and so was Lucian's. I looked at him as he drove with his sunglasses and he looked at me for a second giving me a smile and then placing his hand on my leg. Was I dreaming? Probably.

We got there and were ready to go walk. The trail was like 6km one way but I was ready to conquer it and judging by the fact that Lucian works out everyday it will probably be nothing for him.

"You ready or wanna go back?" He said as I looked up the hill.

"We're going" I said and we started to walk.

We were almost half way up, talking almost all the time, I was running out of breath.

"So who's running the business while we're gone?" I asked Lucian stepping over a huge rock with his help.

"Tobias took over" he said and stepped over the same rock I just did.

"And how's it going?" I asked.

"I don't know" he said and pushed me up the hill clearly seeing I was struggling.

"Doesn't he call you everyday?" I asked.

"No, I said, he took over" he replied what he said before.

"Wait, what do you mean?" I stopped and waited until Lucian was standing right next to me so I could face him.

"I'm done" he said and I furrowed my brows.

"I can come back if I want of course, my name is still on all the papers, but for now I'm done" he said and pulled me in by my hips.

"I want to spend time with you, make memories outside that mansion" he said looking in my eyes while I was still in shock he gave up mafia for me.

"You're the reason I feel alive Adria, and I want it to stay that way until one of us leaves this world, no sooner than we need to, I don't want to stress if someone's going to shoot you while you're out shopping or take you away from me" he said and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.

I stayed speechless. "Let's move we still have a little to walk" he said and tapped my ass for me to move.

After what felt like hours we got to the top and the view was immaculate. You could see the sea further away and fields of wildflowers. The sun shining bright and warming the day.
