Another month later

I ended up writing my assignment about me and Lucian. About our story, about how he made me feel the happiest and how he also gave me the greatest pain I've experienced so far. And I guess the story was so good that my teacher got it published in my university's website as one of the best works from their students and I also got a stipend of 200€ every months for the next term. I was very happy about it all but also felt a little embarrassed that so many people could read what happened to me. Even though I changed the names and didn't write every detail of what happened it still felt weird.

It was Christmas today and I went to my parents house to celebrate. Jolie's family also came over and we all ate dinner and hang out together and then got to unwrapping presents.

"Hey, I got you this" Jolie elbowed me as she sat down on the couch besides me. I had a new book in my lap that I got on Christmas from my sister. Everyone was looking at their gifts and chatting around.

I took the box from Jolie and looked at her.

"Jolie, you shouldn't have, you already got me a one gift" I said.

"I wanted for you to have it" she said and smiled.

I untied the small bow on the box and opened it. It was a big notebook. It was our notebook where we wrote our deepest darkest secrets where we were little. It had some of our pictures from back them. Letters to our older selves that we wrote when we were like 8.

"I thought we lost it" I said flipping trough the pages.

"I did too, but when we were looking for Christmas decorations in the attic I found it in one of the boxes." She said and looked at the pictures that were glued to the page.

"This is amazing Jolie, did you read it?" I asked her and kept flipping trough pages.

"Yeah, and it was really funny" she said and laughed.

Lucian's POV:

"Lucian come downstairs, we're having dinner"
My sister walked into my office and let me know.

I was looking outside the window at the garden of the mansion which was now covered in snow. I swiped on the whiskey I had in my hand and got up from my chair.

"Let's go" I said to her and she gave me a smile and we walked down the stairs to the dinning room.

Layla was back for almost a months now and she was finally getting settled back in. She's still very scared to leave the house as she's scared she will be taken again. And she was also crushed knowing that our mother had died and that she wouldn't see her again.

Layla had grown so much. She looked so much like our mom that it was weird seeing her at first as she reminded me of our mom so much.

We sat by the table and started eating. Everyone was talking and there was laughs heard all around the room. I was happy that my family was back together but there was still something missing and I knew exactly what it was.

"Are you okay?" My sister asked me noticing that I had zoned out.

"Yeah" I said and she smiled and turned back to talk to everyone.
