Chapter Fourteen

Gabriela's POV

"Wow Athena you're right this is amazing." I say as I look around the bookstore "You wanna go get some books then go to the cafe?" She asks with her cheeks a little red, she's been thinking a lot since we met up today.

"Yes" I say so we go in search for whatever books we want or peaks our interest. I paid for our cafe stuff since Athena wouldn't let me pay for the books. "Is it so hard to let someone else pay for your stuff?" She asks "Yes I barely let Micah do it and he's my husband." I say and I saw hurt flash across her face

"What's wrong?" I asked "Nothing we should take pictures to savor the memories." She says changing the subject so I just dropped it and we read "Macaroons are delicious" I say so Athena steals one "They are but it just depends on the flavor." She says and I nod

After about an hour I completely forgot that me and Athena was in a cafe. "You wanna go to my house? I really wanna get in my bed and out of these clothes." Athena says putting her bookmark in her book "Yeah my butt is starting to go numb." I say so we get our books and leave

"It's been forever since I've been in here." I say as I sit on her bed "Have you brought anyone else in here?" I asked which made her stop dressing "Would you be jealous if I said yes?" She asks and I shrugged

"It would probably depend on how many girls." I say "Well lucky for you it's zero because all I do is work and hangout with you, Leah, and sometimes Ava." She says laying on the bed and we start reading again now that we're more comfortable.

I'm at about the middle of the book right now when I catch Athena in thought again. "You're thinking too much again" I say as I put my book to the side and sit up "What's up?" I asked "Nothing." She says so I gently place her book to the side of us.

"Don't tell me it's nothing, you've been like this since this morning and you're worrying me." I say "I can't tell you and it's not because I don't want you to know." She says "Then what is it? I'm here for you" I say holding her hand "You promise?" She asks

"I promise" I say kissing her hand and she takes a breath. "Gabriela I love you and not just a friendly love. I'm in love with you and you make me feel things that I thought I couldn't feel anymore. You're so beautiful, smart, and amazing and I'm so glad that I have met you because even if you deny me we still got our friendship I hope.

Gabriela I love you and I want you to be mine." She says and I sit there in pure shock. She loves me but this is so wrong everything that I learned growing up is flooding back into my brain trying to corrupt me.

"Gabriela please say something" Athena says quietly "This is wrong." I say "No it's not" she says "But it is I'm having an affair on my husband." I say

"But you said it yourself you don't see Micah in the way, you only see him as a friend." She says "How do you know if I see you in that way?" I asked her "You're right I don't know and I just want you to be happy." She says

"I am happy with Micah and what about the twins? They'll be confused." I say "We can work it out together even if you just wanna be friends." She says "I'm sorry I have to go" I say getting up but she grabbed my hand "You promised you wouldn't leave." She says as her voice cracked

"I'm sorry" I say "At least tell me that we can be able to go back to being friends." She says as tears fell onto her cheeks "I don't know I just have to go." I say pulling my hand from out of hers, getting in my car, and driving home.

As soon as I get home I go upstairs "Gabriela what happened?" Angie asks as her and Grace comes in the room concerned "She told me that she's in love me." I say "And what did you say?" Angie asks "I didn't really say anything" I say as a few tears slipped "What do you mean you didn't really say anything?" Grace asks

"I said that our relationship was wrong and that I was happy with Micah then I left." I say "Gabriela you're not happy you just learned to cope with the marriage. Gabriela you're my best friend and I love you but you're stupid, you obviously love her but you don't see it." Angie says

"It's easier this way for me, the twins, and Micah." I say "Sure it's easier but do you really want the twins to grow up with their mom being unhappy with her marriage? Because they're going to realize at some point and that's how they're going to view marriages." Grace says "Can I be alone please?" I asked

"We just want you to realize what you might be missing out on so please think about Athena." Angie says before they leave

I don't remember when but I fell asleep but got awoken to Micah offering me food. "Grace and Angie told me you didn't eat dinner" he says "Thank you" I say taking the plate but I was just pushing the food around.

"Listen Gabby it's okay to choose yourself and your feelings over everyone else. Do whatever makes you happy and if the people who loves you or say they do don't agree with that then the hell with them. It's not their life it's yours, don't let anyone control your life anymore." Micah says before he go in the bathroom.
