Chapter Nine

Athena's POV

Having a party is fun, but cleaning it up after? Hell no. Which is why I saved it for this morning and is now regretting having a party at my house. "I did all of upstairs" Artemis says

"Why did I let you convince me?" I asked "No you let Ava convince you, it's your fault you can't say no to her." She says as I pick up the trash "Besides you didn't mind when you was hiding away with Gabriela." She says "She's not very social as you could tell." I say

"She wasn't acting like that in the club." She says and I stopped "I knew I recognized her and the way you look at her is the same way you looked at her in the club." She says before glancing towards stairs.

"Whatever intimate you guys did leave it in the past. She's a married woman and I don't want your feelings hurt. I'm not saying you can't be friends with her because she's really nice and sweet. I just can't see you hurt again." She says

"Okay" I say "Auntie" Ava says as she walks down the steps "Yes?" I asked "Can we go get some more books to fill up my area of the library?" She asks "Alright but after we clean" I say "I'll clean the glass tables." She says running in the living room with the glass cleaner and a towel for it.

"What? It's just books" I say and Artemis shakes her head. "I'm going to start on breakfast" she says before going to the kitchen and I finish cleaning. "I'm done with cleaning the glass" Ava says "Ok lets go wash our hands then go to the kitchen." I say and we do that, now we're in the kitchen.

"I found Madison's bracelets" Ava says showing us her wrist. "Those are cute" I say "Yeah she told me that her and Gabriela go away once a year to just have a girls trip away from Matthew and Micah. And they collect charms and bracelets." She says before stuffing her face with pancakes.

"You're getting syrup all over your face Silly Goose." I say and she giggled "Well while you two go book shopping I'm going to binge some show I find on Netflix so take as long as you want." Artemis says

"You'll miss us" Ava says "I don't think I will" she says playfully "Whatever." I say

Now me and Ava are at the library and she's looking through all the books until I heard her gasp. "What happened?" I asked "My best friend is here" she says "Go say hi and give her back her bracelets." I say so she runs over there

"Girls shh this is still a library. Oh hi Ava." Gabriela says as she stops in front of them and I find myself staring at her perfect ass inside that tight skirt and remembering our night that we shared.

"You must've missed me" Gabriela says as she stops in front of me. And I laughed a little because I'm pretty sure my face is slightly red from the memories. "Yeah and Ava wanted to get more books for her side of the library." I say

"Yeah that's a lot but a few books came in and I think you'll like it." She says signaling me to follow her and I do "Girls we'll be back" she says and they nod before going back to talking. "Brandon cover us" Gabriela says before she takes me to the back.

"This is a lot of books" I say "Well yeah we're a popular library." She says as we stop in an office "Is this yours?" I asked "Yeah whenever I just want to have my own space I come back here. Plus it's kinda hidden to anyone who don't work here but everyone knows not to come in here." She says and I nod then pick up some of the books and read a few pages.

"I see you like the X ingredient" I say "Yeah it's good and has good smut in it." She says leaning against her desk and she looks so sexy. I imagine her laying on the desk, hair and clothes messy, moaning my name as I devoured her with my mouth.

"You're staring" she whispered as I came out of my imagination and realized she got closer. My whole face felt hot as her hand brushed a loose hair behind my ear. "We should get back to the girls" I say shakily "Right the girls." She says pulling back then we leave with the books.

"Thank you for the books" I say "Don't worry about it. I'm just glad I found a person who likes reading the same books as me. Angelina don't read that often and my husband don't read at all." She says reminding of what Artemis said earlier. "Are you ready?" I asked Ava

"Yes" she says so we say bye to Madison and Gabriela then leave. "When we get home I'm going to take a nap." She says "Me too girl but lets get some cake first." I say and we go in the nearest bakery.

"What cake do you think your mom wants?" I asked "Red velvet" she says "Ok order the cakes while I get the money out." I say "Can I get a red velvet cake, Oreo cake, and a confetti please?" Ava asks "Of course" I heard the voice I haven't heard in a while say.

"Athena?" Nia asks "Yup it's me" I say paying "I knew you moved but not here." She says "Yeah my sister lives up here." I say "How is she by the way?" She asks "She's good" I say wanting to leave and forget I ever saw her again.

"We got the cakes lets go" Ava says before pulling me out the door and home. "You're a lifesaver" I tell her "And I'm tired" she says kissing Artemis' cheek then running upstairs.
