Chapter Twenty

Athena's POV

"Do you think we should've went in with her?" I asked worriedly "I don't know but she's strong" Brandon says "She's been in there for quite some time I think we should check on them." I say as I see a girl walk out "Excuse me is Gabriela and Grace in there?" I asked

"Yes Gabriela is just talking to Grace before she gets married since their mother isn't here." She says "Thank you" I say before she walked away "Do he honestly have anything other than marriage to threaten them with? Like that's old now." Leah asks "Honestly" me and Brandon agreed

"Why people running out the building?" Brandon asks as we see people run away from the building then someone scared us by banging on the car. "Angie?" I asked "I texted her" Leah says

"The church is on fire" Angelina says panically before running inside so I run after her. "Gabby!" Angelina yelled then started coughing so I get random cloths and wet it then give her one. "We have to spilt up and find them" I say "Stay safe please." She says before we went off in separate directions.

"Gabriela! Grace!" I yelled as I looked in rooms but my eyes only catching fire and smoke. "Gab-" smoke caught in my throat and I started coughing "Help!" I hear faintly and a door banging.

"Gabriela!" I yelled as I go towards the banging "Athena!" I hear as I stop in front of a door. I go to unlock the doorknob but retracted because it's hot as hell "Damnit" I say shaking off the pain. "Be careful" Gabriela says so I use my shirt as protection when I'm knocked to the floor.

"You're the cause of all this" Isaiah says as he towers over me and tries to grab me but I move to the side. "Gabriela would still be married, Grace would've been a perfect angel so I can send her off at 18, and our family wouldn't be falling apart-" "Only one of those are my fault you're the problem and that's why nobody wants anything to do with you.

You're mad that you can't control Gabriela anymore because she found her voice and you never was able to control Grace and that's why you want to blame it on me. Y-" I was cut off by him chocking me and lifting me off the ground

"You're right I could never control Grace she was born rotten and God would be glad that I'll send from where she came. And sweet Gabriela was always so obedient and stupid it was so easy to control her life even if she did claim to hate me. Then you came in her life and ruined it with your disease and corrupted her brain more and

you'll burn just like them two and the world would be down 3 fa-" just as I thought I was about to take my last breath he dropped me "Grace run now" I heard Gabriela as I was coughing from the smoke and trying to catch my breath then she put a wet cloth to my mouth and nose.

"Angie lets go" she says and we all escape outside where firefighters, police officers, and paramedics was. "Is there anyone else in there?" A firefighter asks us and before we could answer Isaiah came out coughing before the whole church collapsed. "There was our chance" Grace says quietly so we only heard it.

"Get him anyway from me he tried to marry me off to a 48 year old and tried to kill us." Grace says as Isaiah tried to come to her "Come on Grace I'm your father." He says "Sir I'm going to need you to back up" a officer says before handcuffing him and the paramedics took care of us.

"Where's your mother?" The Sargent asks Gabriela "She went out the state for a wedding but she's on her way home." Gabriela says "We'll need some form of I.D. to be able to release Grace to you." She says "It's in my car" Gabriela says before going to get it then gave it to the Sargent and I hugged them.

"I almost lost you" I say to them "You and Angie saved us." Grace says as she pulls Angie in the hug then Gabriela and Grace go answer a couple questions before we can go home.

"Today was a very rough day" I say as Gabriela rubs cream on my bruised neck. "It definitely was I just can't wait to see my mom back tomorrow and the twins." She says and I wiped her tears "They would've been motherless I can't imagine the hurt they would've felt." She says

"Then don't because you're here and you're going to see them tomorrow because you can't call them right now because they're sleep." I say and she laughed a little "I love you so much" she says "I love you more" I say kissing her before we get in bed.

We hear a knock on the door then it opened "Can I sleep with you guys?" Grace asks so we Gabriela scooted over and Grace laid between us "It's over" she says "You'll never have to deal with that man again as long as I live." Gabriela says "As long as we live" I say "Well we all almost lost our lives today so I'll never doubt that." She says and we laughed before turning out the lights and going to sleep.

The next day Gwen came and gave us all a big hug "I'm so glad you girls are fine I was so worried on the flight home." She says "Sorry you had to come home to all this" Gabriela says "Gabriela it's not any of your faults." She says "Mommy!" The twins say as they run in and Gabriela hugs them "I missed you" she says "We missed you" Madison says

"Grandma we made you a surprise" Matthew says before they go get the cake "Thank you babies" Gwen says before telling them about her trip.
