A/n Pre-warning I am not quite familiar with writing fight scenes so bare with me

You would think, being a moderately well known SHIELD agent, they would be treating me a little better. But I suppose its their job, to follow the orders of the pompous asshole that is Alexander Pierce

"Just answer his questions and I am sure you will one step closer to loosing the cuffs" Brock says leading me to Pierce's office, Seeing Steve walking as well, I walk faster to catch up to him, and also get away from Brock.

"Cap" he spins around and sees me, looking at the handcuffs he chuckles "Figured they catch you" he says, I roll my eyes "Well they played dirty, but uh" leaning in close and dropping my voice low so only he can hear, "Don't mention anything about the USB or anything" I whisper he hums "I mean what did you expect? You are technically on the run" He says, loud enough so Brock can hear us.

Looking ahead I see Sharon talking to Pierce, turning she walks past us, nodding her head at me and Steve "Captain Rogers" She greets, knowing he is annoyed at her. Which he doesn't hide when he responds "neighbour".  Pierce stares at us, waiting.

"Ah Captain, I'm Alexander Pierce" He greets Steve first. "Sir its and honour" Steve says shaking his hand. Pierce then turns to me with a sly smirk "Y/n nice to see you again" he says. "Feelings not mutual" I mutter to which he laughs and Steve smiles awkwardly.

Walking into the room, I immediately go to sit in an arm chair, whilst Steve picks up a picture of Fury and Pierce, "That photo was taken five years after Nick and I met, when I was at State Department in Bogota. E.L.N. rebels took the embassy, and security got me out, but the rebels took hostages." he starts sighing I fiddle with the handcuffs, only the more I do, the more tighter the handcuffs become around my wrist. Impressed I leave them alone not wanting to cut off circulation.

"..Nick was Deputy Chief of the S.H.I.E.L.D. station there, and he comes to me with a plan. He wants to storm the building through the sewers. I said, "No, we'll negotiate." Turned out, the E.L.N. didn't negotiate, so they put out a kill order. They stormed the basement, and what do they find? They find it empty" he continues

Taking a seat next to me Steve sits in an armchair whilst Pierce sits across from us, "Nick had ignored my direct order, and carried out an unauthorised military operation on foreign soil, and saved the lives of a dozen political officers, including my daughter" He finishes, making me smile bittersweetly at the notion of Nick going against orders, and yet becoming the Director of the organisation. "So you gave him a promotion?" Steve asks

"I've never had any cause to regret it" He responds, looking at me. "Captain, why was Nick in your apartment last night?" He asks. "I don't know" Steve says, Pierce turns to me "And why were you there Agent?" He asks. Leaning back in my chair, I look at him "Because I knew Nick was there" I say, Steve subtly looks at me curious as to where I am going with this. "And do you know why he was there?" I shake my head "No, he never disclosed that, I only went to check up on him after the car chase" I say. Making him chuckle "Right, the car chase, you know when I saw that coverage on the news, I had to cover my daughters eyes as we watched you get shot at" He says then taking a moment to look over my body, clearly wondering how I am alive. Moving my hands I clasp them on my lap, the jingle of the metal cuffs breaking the silence.

Turning his attention away from me, he looks back at Steve "Did you know your apartment was bugged" He asks. "I did, because Nick told me" He says honestly. As if expecting that response Pierce looks to me then back at Steve, "Did he tell you he was the one who bugged it?" he says, starting to feel uneasy, I look to Steve nervously to see his body stiffen slightly.

"I want you both to see something" Pierce says turning to the monitor,  displayed on the wall next to Steve. A shiver runs down my spine, as I realise it is Batroc, and as if knowingly the one of the guards interrogating him questions him who hired him. Glancing at Steve I notice he is watching but then turns to Pierce who's, focus is on me. "Is this live?" Steve asks. "Yeah, they picked him up last night in a not-so-safe house in Algiers" Pierce says, smirking slightly.
