We where all at the dining table eating with step mom until my dad came and ruined the moment and he looked angry
"Who stole 500,000 Naira from my room?" My dad asked
We all stopped eating and looked and each other
"I don't know ask Asaal I saw her in your room today" My step mother said
"Asaal, you stole my money?!" My father shouted
"No!—
"Shut up! Oya follow me to my room" He said
"What will I do with your money?" 16 year old me asked
"Will you stand up and follow me!" He shouted
I looked at all my step siblings, but they just put their heads down, I knew what was in store for me, no one had to show me sympathy, I was a regular customer to this, when I entered my father's room, he told me to kneel down and he took brought out his belt to beat me
"Baba, It wasn't me!" I cried
"Don't ever call me Baba again, you're not my daughter, stealing from me?!" He shouted
"Im sorry, I won't do it again!" I cried
He kept on beating me with his belt until he felt contented, i kept on crying and crying, I couldn't walk properly, my step older brother carried me to my room in his arms and It was always him and Afrah always putting me to sleep and when I woke up in the middle of the night I continued crying which woke Afrah up and she would hug me and always put me back to sleep.

I was sitting down on my stool and looking at my self in the mirror
"Hey, dinners ready" Nurain said, entering my room with a white jalabiya
"Umm, you can always talk to me if anything is wrong" Nurain said again
"Nothing is wrong with me, let's go" I said
"You sure?" He asked
"Nurain, I said I'm fine, let's go" I said
We both walked out of my room and we went to the dining table where I saw everyone again, we all ate in silence as usual and when we were done we left the dining table and reported to our various rooms, but I went to Nurains room
"Oh you followed me, what happened?" Nurain asked
"Umm, I really don't feel comfortable sleeping alone In my room, could you like come and stay with me?" I asked, with my head low because I didn't want to make any eye contact with him
"You don't want to stay in my room instead?" He asked
"You know what? You don't have to come, I'll fight the fear on my own" I said
I left his room and went to my room and I sat down on my bed trying to think of every possible way I could sleep, I entered the bathroom and changed into my silk pajamas and switched on the tv and I went on Netflix from there and started watching Bridgeton for the first time, when I was in the middle of episode one, I heard a knock on the door and I saw some one with a black a shirt, and grey shorts and it was Nurain, bro this boy, he's... lord Asaal control yourself
"Can I?" He asked
"Sure" I said
He stayed on the other side of the bed, and he sat down
"Bridgeton? How old are you?" He asked
"Excuse me, I'm 18 and I'm old enough to watch Bridgeton" I said
"Sorry" He said
He started using his phone and I kept on watching Bridgeton
"Wait don't you have school tomorrow?" He asked
"No, I'm not going tomorrow, I'm going to fall ill " I said
"Huh but you're doing fine" Nurain said
"Just wait and see" I said
He just kept on looking at me and I ignored him and kept on watching Bridgeton till I was In Episode 5
"I'm going to sleep now" i said
By the time I turned around I already saw him sleeping, I switched of the television and also slept off to.

💳Nurain💳
3am. And Asaal woke me up, she was crying.
"Hey,hey, it's okay,I'm here" I said moving closer to her, I hugged her and she kept on crying
"Asaal what's wrong?" I asked
"It was just a bad dream" she said
"Asaal a bad dream?,and you are crying?" I asked
"Yes, it was just a bad dream, you don't have to worry" she said
"It's no big deal—
"You can't tell me it's no big deal, Asaal there's tears coming out of your eyes, what's wrong?" I asked
"Nurain it's nothing! It was just a bad dream" she said
"Go and perform Ablution, we are going to pray" i said
"But—
"Shhh, bad dream or not Asaal, you still have to pray, and I'll pray with you" I said
"Nurain you don't need to bother" she said
"Why are you so stubborn, just stand up and go" i said
She stood up and went to the bathroom and I sat down and waited for her to come out, when she came out I entered the toilet to perform Ablution while she arranged the praying mats, when I was done I went out of the bathroom and I saw her on the bed with a black Jiljab, as soon as she saw me she stood up, I was infront leading the prayer while she was at the back, when we finished doing our two rakats, I turned around to make sure she was making dua but she was lying down
"Asaal, you're to sit down and make dua and you are not to lay Down on the mat, Kin ji, Oya sit up" I said
"How do you make dua?" She asked
"You don't know how to make dua?" I asked
"I only know how to put up my hands and ask for what I want" She said
"They didn't teach you at home?" I asked
"I didn't grow up fully with my mom, I didn't have a good relationship with my step mother, my blood siblings are married and I despise my father and as for my step siblings I just didn't bother to ask them" She said
"Okayy... so first of all when you put up your hands you make blessings upon the prophet, I think you know how to do that already" she nodded "good, then you praise Allah with his different names, Ar- Rahman etc, then you make your dua, then when you finish repeat the first step then you say Amin and your done" I explained
"Thank you" she smiled
Asaal just smiled at me, oh my God, this is a blessing, she just smiled at me and unlike others it was genuine, And her smile is so cute! I waited for her to finish making her dua then we both folded the mat and we went back to sleep.
7am. Today is Tuesday and I just woke up hearing some strange noises from Asaals toilet, I turned around and I didn't see her, I quickly stood up and went to the toilet door and put my ear there, she was throwing up, I gently opened the door and I saw her head down facing the toilet sink throwing up, I held her hair back for her and I kept on rubbing her back, when she was done( I think) she washed her face and sink and looked at me, her face was pale and she was holding her stomach
"What's wrong? Do you need me to take you to the hospital?" I asked
"Im fine" she said
"Are you trying to say im blind or what?, you literally look sick and you said you're fine" I said
Then I noticed there was blood all over her toilet seat
"You know you could just say, 'Nurain I'm on my period and I get really sick on the first day' There's nothing to be ashamed of I'm your partner and I have sisters so it's nothing new" I said
And she actually looked shocked, she was trying to understand how I knew, then I looked at the toilet seat and she also looked there to, as she as she looked at it she went back to the sink to throw up, so pretty princess doesn't like seeing her blood when she's on her period, noted. When she stopped her vomiting, I helped her with an underwear from her drawer and and a sanitary pad from her cupboard and gave it to her in the toilet, from there I carried my blanket out of her room, on my way to my room I bumped Into umma
"Good morning to my darling mother" i said
"Good morning Nurain how was your-
Then she looked at my blanket then she looked at Asaals room
"You didn't sleep in your room, where did you sleep?" Umma asked
"Asaals room" i said
"Nurain mind your self, she's still 18 and she still goes to school, she's not mentally or physically prepared for anything" Umma said
"Umma calm down, I only slept with her cause she said she wasn't comfortable sleeping alone, so I slept with her but don't worry there was a lot of space between us" i said
"Good" she said
Then I went to my room and put the blanket on my bed and I entered the bathroom to take a shower, what did Umma mean by Asaal is mentally prepared for anything, I mean it's almost every lady's dream to have a child right? or maybe she just meant it was the stress of school plus having kids that won't go, i finally finished having a shower and I dressed up into a black office shirt and black office trousers, Bro i be looking so sexy today, I wore my black office shoes and I went to Asaals room to collect my phone
"Asaal I'm going to work now, if there's anything you want call me and if you want something In the house tell sultan, Faruk or Ruqaya" I said
"Okay" she said
"I'll tell Amina to bring your food for you" i said
I left the room and I went downstairs to the dining room and i saw Umma again, with Sultan, Faruk, Salmaa, Ihsan, Ruqaya and Usman with his friends
"Hello" i said to everyone
"Hi, where is Asaal" Ihsan asked
"Oh, she isn't feeling to well" i said
"What's wrong with her, why didn't you tell me earlier?" Umma asked
"Umma, it's just stomachache" i said
"I'll quickly tell Amina to take her food upstairs" Umma said
She stood up and from the dining table and so did Salmaa and Ihsan
"Ummm, Faruk, sultan and Ruqaya could you help me keep an eye on Asaal?" I asked
"I badly want to help but I have to go to NYSC office today, I'm so sorry" Ruqaya said
"Guy I and sultan have to do important stuff, so we can't help but we'll sha call her later" Faruk said
"Your only hope is My friends and I" Usman said
"Theres no bloody way I'll allow you to take care of my wife, I'll just stay at home and take care of her my self" i said
"But isn't work—
"Today is Tuesday, there's nothing important, if anything important comes up Salmaa will handle it" i said
"Who isn't going to work today?" I heard Asaal say at the door of the dining room, I turned around and I saw her in her black Jiljab and she was holding a bottle of water with pills
"Hey sister-in law!" Ruqaya smiled
"Hi Ruqaya" she smiled to
"How are you feeling?" Ruqaya asked
"I'm still feeling down and my stomach still hurts but, I had to come downstairs to see all of you" She said
"Awww that's so nice of you" Sultan said
"Sultan when you're going out could you help me buy cake and peanut butter?" She asked
"Weird, but sure and Yaya you're paying me back the money" Sultan said
"No I'll pay you, text me your account details" She said
"No, I want Yaya to pay me, he has been owning me money since last month" Sultan said
"How much will everything be?" I asked
"Cake in Amigo—
"Buy it from dunes, she likes food from dunes" i said
Then everyone looked at me
"Hmm somebody is now a lover boy oo" Ruqaya said
"Ruqaya leave me alone" i said
"Ah! Did I say Nurain?, I could be talking about any other guy in the room not you" Ruqaya said
"Toh what type of cake do you want Asaal" Sultan asked
"Vanilla" she said
"Isn't that not a boring flavour?" Sultan asked
"Yeah it is but I'm going to take it with the peanut butter I asked for with Nutella" Asaal said
"Wait that's to sweet" i said
"Abeg you you're to boring" sultan said
"Like Vanilla" Faruk said
Then the both of them started laughing so did Ruqaya
"Please Abeg let me go to NYSC office before I stay there till 9pm" Ruqaya said
She stood up went to hug Asaal then she left the house
"When you're ready to tell me the balance of everything I'm upstairs" I Said
"Ah, don't vex, Oya total is 40k" Sultan said
"I don't understand 40? For just cake and Peanut butter?" I asked
"Calm down cake and peanut butter should be like 18k in Dunes, then remember last month you borrowed 22k to buy something for Zarah, in total everything is 40" Sultan said
"I already have your account number so I don't need it again" I said
"How won't you have it? When he's always telling everybody to send him money?" Faruk said
"Who?" I and sultan asked at the same time
"Sultan" Faruk said
I turned around and left the dining room and took Asaal with me and we went to to her room
"Erm so on Thursday is a wedding that we have to attend it's that my cousins own, will you be okay by then?" I asked
"Yeah, are we going together or Im going with Ihsan?" Asaal asked
"Anyone you're comfortable with, just don't forget to tell me before tomorrow" I said
"Sure" she said
I sat down on her bed and I started unbuttoning my shirt
"Nurain what are you doing?" She asked
"Sorry oh my God I thought I was in my room" i said
She kept on looking at me and then I saw her eyes going to my chest
"Are you scoping me?" I asked
"Um no, I was just um... looking at the chair behind you" she quickly shook her head and turned to the other side
"Just say the truth, I saw you" I said
"Nurain, leave my room, go and change" she said
I just chuckled and stood up and went to my room and changed into a sky blue hoodie and black shorts and I went back to her room with my laptop. When I entered I saw dancing well not like dancing but she was pretending like she had a partner to dance with like she was in a ball and when I heard the music she was dancing to it was from Bridgeton, I stood at the door for a while and looked at her trying her best but she will pause and hold her stomach then continue.
"You know I could just simply be the Simon in this hole act" I said interrupting her dance
She stopped what she was doing and looked at me
"You know if you are so polite as you claim then I believe you would have knocked" she said
"My dearest apologies but I couldn't just miss an opportunity of seeing you dancing" I said
She closed her laptop and put it on her side table and laid down on her bed
"Shut the door" she said
I shut the door and I sat down on the chair in her room and did my work
"Nurain" Asaal said
"Yes" I said
"Can I ask you a question" Asaal said
"Sure feel free" i said
Then she sat up on the bed
"This question is going to make the tension in the room uncomfortable but I'll still ask" she said
"Okayyyy..." I said
"What will you do, if... I said I wanted a child now at this age?" She asked
"A child?" I asked
She nodded her head
"I'll simply tell you no" I said
"Why" she asked
I closed my laptop and kept it on the side table then I went to the bed and sat down
"Because you're just 18 and you aren't mentally or physically prepared for anything" I said
Then I looked at her and all her attention was on my chest
"Oh, but anyways as you know I'll never ask you for that" She said but her eyes where still fixed on my chest I smiled, I extended my hands forward and raised up her head and she looked me straight in the eye
"You know if I'm that attractive just say it" I smiled
"Ew. Please you disgust me, I'm going to sleep, bye" She quickly turned her head and laid down on the bed and covered her self the blanket. Asaal, such a stubborn girl, she can't even admit to me that she's attracted to my body. I shook my head to and I slept off too
