“Eomma! (Mom)” Kija shook Bella awake. Bella did not budge. Kija shook her a little harder this time. She still did not move, holding in a chuckle. She loved teasing her son.

The younger Jeon stopped, pouted and walked over to the other side of the bed where his father was. “Appa! (Dad)” Jake did not budge as well, also holding in a laugh.

“Wake up, Eomma and Appa (Mom and Dad)!” Kija stomped his foot. Jake and Bella both jumped out of bed and pulled their son into a hug, sandwiched between them.

“Joeun Achimieyo, (Good morning) Kija.” Bella greeted her son as Jake kissed both his chubby cheeks.

“Maayong buntag, ma! (Good morning mom).” Kija replied in Bella’s native language.

“It’s only 6 am, son and you’re already extra energetic. What’s on our schedule today?” Jake asked his four-year-old.

“Uncle Taetae is coming over today. He said he was taking us out for ice cream!”

“Good morning, everyone!” Kira stood by the doorway.

“Morning, Kira! Come join us.” Jake called to his daughter.

Kira walked into the room and climbed onto the bed. She lay down beside Bella, kissing her cheek. “Uncle Taetae is coming later in the afternoon, kuya (big brother). Why did we have to wake Eomma and Appa (Mom and Dad) up so early?”

“Because I just wanted to remind them that we were going out on a drive today for ice cream.” Kija explained.

“I’m sure they already knew that, kuya (big brother). Uncle Taetae wouldn’t tell us anything yet if he hadn’t asked Mom and Dad first.” Kira reasoned.

Jake and Bella’s eyes met. Bella reached for her phone and opened the Line app. She called Taehyung. The Idol answered the video call on the third ring.

“Yeoboseyo? (Hello)” Taehyung was lying in bed, surrounded by white fluffy pillows. His curly hair was held away from his face by a brown bandana. His eyes were barely open.

“Joeun Achimieyo (Good morning), V-oppa! Sorry to bother you. Kija was asking what time you guys were going out for ice cream.” Bella spoke, trying to adjust the angle of her phone so Taehyung could see all of them on the bed.

“Good morning, Jeons!” Taehyung chirped and opened one eye, keeping the other closed.

Jake waved to his hyung and so did Kira, to her godfather.

“Uncle Taetae, we’re going out for ice cream today, right?” Kija clarified.

“Yes, we are, Kija! But let’s do it much much much later in the afternoon.” Taehyung replied.  “Your parents have a dance session with Hobi-hyung and Jiminie later. I’ll take you out then, okay?”

Kija turned to his dad. “What time is dance practice going to be, Appa (Dad)?”

Jake closed his eyes and put his right pointer finger to his temple as if to think very hard.

Used to his father’s antics, Kija just turned to his mom. “Ma? (Mom)”

“We have the studio booked for one pm, Kija. Uncle Taetae should be by at about twelve, twelve-thirty tops. Is that right, V-oppa?” Bella looked at Taehyung through the screen.

“Sounds about right, puppy!” Taehyung agreed.

“Uncle Taetae is never late. We should be ready by eleven-thirty, Kuya (big brother).” Kira told her brother.

Kija nodded to his sister and looked at his Uncle Taetae. “Tannie sits with us at the back right, Uncle Taetae?”

“Or up front with me. We’ll see where he ends up later.” Taehyung replied. “I’ll see you little Jeons later, okay? Uncle Taetae wants a few more hours of sleep if that’s okay with everyone.”

“See you later, hyung!” Jake called and waved to him. The others did so as well and Bella ended the call.

Bella looked at her children and her husband. “So, since we’re all here and awake, how about some breakfast?”

Jake looked over the twins and at Bella. “Let me make it, baby.”

“I got it, baby. I was thinking of making silogs today.” She replied.

“Let me take care of my family today.” Jake smiled at her and it melted Bella’s heart. Years together and two children later, Jake was still the same person she had said yes to.

Bella nodded.

Jake stood up and walked over to Bella’s side of the bed, kissing her forehead. “Does anyone want to help Appa (Dad) make breakfast today?” He looked at the twins.

They both jumped out of the bed.
