TIME SKIP: NINE YEARS
June 02, 2036
Jeon JeongKira balanced little Kim Boram on her knee. The four-year-old (Korean age) was the daughter of her Uncle Taetae.
Kira stole a glance at the couch beside her. On it were Min Hana, her Uncle Yoongi’s six-year-old daughter and Park Da-som, the eight-year-old daughter of her Uncle Jimin.
They were both looking up at the TV where their parents were flashed on screen.
They, the nine children, were all in a room at the KBS studios and watching their parents’ interview on screen. They were pre recording this now and it was set to be aired on June the thirteenth in reference to their debut date.
Hosting the special was Shin Dong-Yup. He had gone into retirement a few years back but was quite glad to host this special. He was always kind to the seven and he was the unanimous choice. His humor and wit were perfect for this special.
The seven sets of parents were seated in a double arc on the purple and white stage. The dads were in front and the moms were behind them on a raised stage. The door to the guest room opened and her older twin brother, sixteen-year-old (Korean age) Jeon JeongKija walked in the door. He had in tow Kim BonHwa, the nine-year-old son of the twins’s Uncle Jin, Kim ChinHae, the seven-year-old son of Uncle Namjoon and Jung EunSeong, the seven-year-old son of Uncle Hobi.
Kija had just taken them to the bathroom.
Kira counted the children. “Kuya (older brother), where’s JeongKwon?”
Kija looked behind him and started to count. His eyes opened wide just as his nine-year-old brother entered the door. “I’m here, ate! (Older sister)” He called. “I was just tying my shoelaces.”
Kija ushered the children to the couch, including his brother. “Don’t scare me like that, Kwon.”
The younger Jeon broke out into a smile. “Awww, Kuya (older brother) was worried about me.”
Kira chuckled as she watched the exchange between her brothers. It was so typical of them.
“Let’s just watch our parents on TV okay, guys?” Kira increased the volume of the TV. She looked up to see her Uncle Namjoon answering a question in English. She noticed that they had been speaking English since the start of the recording about an hour ago.
By the end of the filming, everyone idled around the stage and took turns thanking Shin Dong-Yup for his gracious hosting.
The former boy band members kept reminding him that he was their favorite interviewer and casually mentioned that if he were still up to it, maybe they could do another special five years from now.
The older Korean thanked them and kept praising them for their industry and hard work, remarking that they were all quite formidable in the entertainment industry in their own respective fields even up to that very moment.
He joked that the time outside his home was now up and his wife would be calling him soon to get him to hurry back. He promised BTS that he would definitely still make himself accessible to them in five years for another special.
With that, Shin Dong-Yup hurried home and the rest of them went to get dinner.
