"My entire world feels like it's upside-down. My sister is gone! I don't know what to do. I don't know where to look or who to call. Park said he'll find her but I don't know if he can. Gio, what do I do?" I cried.
"I know sweetie. Maybe we should call the Police." Gio said hugging me tightly.
"Park doesn't want them involved. In a way, he seems just like my sister and doesn't like to call the cops. I want to trust him and believe that he'll find her, but I'm also scared. I want to help and don't know how."
"This situation is a little beyond us, there's not much we can do but tell the authorities. Give them any information we have no matter how small."
"If I'm being honest with myself, I kind of think that they won't find her. Bina has a reputation for evading the Police and is always in trouble. The Officers kind of looks the other way when she disobeys the law with her reckless driving. One of them even went as far as telling her that they give up on trying to stop her and would just pick her up when she hurt or possibly get herself killed... Well, I said it in a much nicer way but it was something along those lines. So honestly, I don't know if they would even take her case seriously or care." I sniffled.
"That's beyond fucked up. An Officer should never say that to someone. And even so, we should still try. I know your sister means a lot to you and I'd be happy when you get her back. She's such a great person. I've met her only a handful of times and she's wonderful. Seeing you like this is heartbreaking. Don't worry, I'll talk to the Officers."
"Okay. But I need a long hug please." I said through tears.
"Of course."
My phone started ringing and it was Minjun calling. I picked up. "Please tell me you have something."
"Hello, Diane. I've come to talk to you. But I need to see you inside. Which building and apartment number are yours? I'm outside."
"The one in the middle, I'll stand on the balcony so you can see." I got up and went to the door, stood outside, and waved. Minjun saw me and came up.
I introduced him to Gio.
"Minjun this is Gio. Gio this is Minjun." I said between the two men.
"I wish we had met under better circumstances but it's nice to meet you," Minjun said.
"Nice to meet you too," Gio replied.
"You can sit if you like," I told Minjun.
"Thanks." He sat down.
"We were just discussing before you came and think that we should make a Police report."
"Absolutely not," Minjun said with a slightly angry tone.
This set something off in my brain and I slapped him as soon as the last syllable left his lips. I knew he said it before but hearing it again made me feel horrible. Gio quickly held me by the shoulders and pulled me back.
"Whoa, sweetheart!" Gio said.
"Do you hear how arrogant you sound? I know that they aren't much good but I don't want to sit around and do nothing. Yeah, she's your girlfriend, but she's my sister! I love her way more than you can imagine and I can't just sit here! She could be anywhere! She could be..." I couldn't let the word come out of my mouth before tears came down my face again.
"That's why I'm here. The reason I didn't want to involve the Police is that I can find her faster given my past." Minjun said.
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"
"To be clear, I wasn't always an actor. My past is pretty colorful, and there are lots of things that I've done that no one knows about. Finding people was one of them. So finding Bina won't be hard. There are eyes everywhere. I just let Felix make the calls. However, if the Police get put in this, not only will it obviously tie Bina to me because of our relationship, but also what I'm doing at this current moment will come to light. They will be all over you and the press will be up in your face as well. I can find her faster. And If I risk exposure, you or Bina won't get much if any backlash from it. I can simply state that neither of you knew. And truthfully you didn't." Minjun explained.
What is he? The way he's talking it's as if he's some sort of bounty hunter.
"Believe me I want to find her. In the short time that I came to know her and spent time with her, I realized that she means a lot to me. I don't want to lose her. That's why at this point I'll risk anything to find her. I- I love Bina." He said softly.
"Then you better find her. She wants to trust you with this. So for her sake don't let her down." Gio stepped in and said.
"I promise you I'll find her."
"Minjun... something you said doesn't settle with me, and has me a bit anxious," I said thinking over his explanation.
"Do you want to ask me something?"
"Yes... A- are you a part of the Jopok?" I asked.
He give a little smile and got up, then nodded. Something about that sent chills down my spine and I backed up a little ways from him.
"It's a lot more complicated than that. But right now I can't explain. I'll explain it in detail after I find her." He said and his phone rang. It was Melody. "I'm busy right now. Whatever it is talk to Kimbly about it." He said and hung up.
I know now's not the time for this but this lady is making me dislike her more and more.
"I'll be going now. I have work to do If I want to find her."
"O-okay."
He left us standing in the middle of the living room. I still couldn't believe what I had just heard and neither could Gio. We looked at each other for a few seconds.
"At first I was thinking he was a goody-two-shoes. Bina had an assumption even before she had ever met him that there was something up. She was even looking online for scandals but found nothing. Turns out, she was right. I should have seen this coming. Bina seems to attract troublesome people..... But for him, he's dangerous." I said.
"Yeah, I got that feeling too after hearing him speak," Gio said.
"I was going to tell Ash but I just changed my mind. We'll just have to tell her after he brings her back because knowing Ash she'll go berserk and round up a gang of her own."
"So what are you gonna do if they ask for her?"
"Tell them that she's with her boyfriend for the time being and not responding as much. They don't know it's Minjun. She hasn't told anyone. So as far as people who know of the relationship are me, you, Felix, and one of Minjun's coworkers. Don't worry, the coworker isn't the type to run his mouth either." I said.
"Okay, then that's good. If anyone else knew I believe that they won't let Bina breathe."
"Exactly." I sighed and sat down on the sofa. Gio came and hugged me again. "I'm not going to work today."
"You don't have to. I'll stay with you all day if you want." Gio told me.
"Please... I need someone right now."
"I'm here for you sweetheart."
