Dinner - *Diane's POV*

Following that night, Minjun did exactly as he said he would. He started talking more with Melody. Although, that didn't go over too well with Bina. We both tried to explain that we were trying to find out as much information as we can and explore everything we could. She said it was okay but we could both tell she didn't like it, plus after hearing about the articles and even reading a few when she got the phone didn't make it any better. It made her feel worse. On top of that, she was having nightmares. Twice she woke up flailing and screaming to which Minjun had to calm her down.

This situation is significantly more difficult for her emotionally than it is for the rest of us. Even after all of that she's still willing to try to understand although it's not her fault in the first place.

I just wish this never happened...

As I got dressed I thought of a lot of ways this could have played out, including the death of my sister. It was purely a coincidence that Bo was even there. Given everything we were told, and Minjun didn't even know that Bo was shadowing him for years until he told us, I'm glad that he did. It's stomach-churning to think about but my mind would not rest on the matter.

What if Bo never followed him? What if Minjun hadn't sent that message out when he did? What if Bo was the type that killed women and he never found out until after he'd completed the job? What would Minjun have done if he found out she had died?... He would have gone on a rampage in the city and probably destroyed himself along with it. I know one thing for sure, the police only deal with the smaller gangs and wouldn't involve themselves in a gang related war. Once it gets out that The Emperor's here, they're gonna go silent until its all over and just deal with the cleanup.

Time passed quickly and before I knew it we were on the way to dinner. I had put temporary black dye in my hair and wore it down with loose curls. It matched well with the drop shoulder houndstooth patterned shirt and high-waisted flared black pants that covered my stilettos. Have to look the part right? However, I wasn't happy in the slightest.

"They don't know I'm bringing along someone," Minjun spoke.

"Good, that means that we'll get a raw reaction from them. Melody especially, for some reason rubs me the wrong way," I responded.

"Why is that? To me she seemed to be nice that's why I really didn't suspect her."

I turned my head with a disgusted look. "You defending her now?"

"No. No, absolutely not," he said sharply.

"That's what I thought."

"I was just saying that, I never thought about it that way. Maybe I'm blind or got bad at judging character over the years," he said taking one hand off the steering wheel to rest in his lap.

"No," I sighed. "You picked Bee, so your judgment is good. Sometimes you just...can't predict people's actions you know," I said remembering the time I got cheated on.

"That's true. Can I ask you something?"

"Mm-hmm," I nodded my head.

"Why are you putting yourself in danger? I know the two of you are close and I understand the bond you have. But, you don't have to involve yourself this deeply. We can take care of this," he said softly. I could hear the sincerity in his voice and he sounded genuinely concerned.

"Because she did it for me first," I said looking down at my hands. "There was this guy I was dating who turned out to be an asshole. Bee found out before I did and she kind of went crazy...Well, she kicked his ass on an airplane. From what I was told by the police, according to the passengers, it was a one-sided fight. He was still strapped in his chair and didn't get the chance to defend himself really. The way they described it was brutal. Some people said they heard his bones cracking from the impact. One lady said she heard the sound of his jaw breaking apart as she kicked him in the face."
