I'm The Girl

I'm the girl with the heavy black eye-liner,

And the splatter paint combat boots that make me look tougher than I really am,

I'm she who wears the dark band tees,

For groups that make commoners cringe at the name,

I'm her who scares people at one unfriendly glance,

Because no one believes that a girl like me can be sweet a caring and sensitive.

I'm the girl obsessed with cats,

And crying over sad movies,

I'm she who sleeps with stuffed animals,

For they comfort me in the midnight light,

I'm her who feels secure in the insecure environment that is the modern world,

Because self worth is more than any pity you throw my way.

I'm the girl who they misjudge,

Because they were so busy looking at my cover, they forgot to look at my content,

I'm she who's not unknown,

But not known by all far and wide,

I'm her who represents every other girl on the face of this planet,

Because moments of un-clarity are found in the hearts of even the strongest hero's.

I'm the girl with the heavy black eyeliner,

And is also obessessed with cats,

Who wears her splatter paint combat boots,

While crying over a sad movie,

Because I am sensitive and caring,

And tougher than I need to be.
