Chapter 10 rescue in the mountains

One day a whole herd of elks were stampeding with flies buzzing around them, especially by their faces.

Nicole: Elks! Slow down!

Carly: It's the tsetse flies! This is the most I've ever seen!

Nicole: They won't stop until they get some relief.

Carly: Well, tsetse flies aren't very fond of water.

Nicole: Of course! Carly, find some water! We'll need enough to hold the herd!

Carly saw a river that is not far from where they are.

Carly: There's a river not far from here!

Nicole: Perfect! Lead the way! This way everybody!

They followed Carly.

Meanwhile by the river Adam herd something.

Adam: What is that?

Nicole: Lynxes, out of the way!

Adam: Nicole, can't you lead those elks somewhere else? We're eating here!

Nicole: I said move!

Six of the lynxes move aside to let the wolf guard and the herd of elks through and into the river.

Adam: Well, you don't have to be rude about it.

Ryan: I never thought I'd be so happy to get soaked.

Nicole: Guess the flies like the water even less than you Ryan. They're gone!

Billy: (off in the distance) Help! So many flies!

Jacob: That sounds like Billy.

Nicole: Now we know where the flies went. Let's go!

Meanwhile in the mountains Bri, Megan, and Alyssa are looking for Hayley and her jackals. Megan flipped over a rock.

Megan: Huh. No jackals under here.

Bri: What are we gonna do with the jackals when we find them anyway?

Megan: Can we eat them?

Alyssa: No bitch. George wants us to talk to them and get them on his side.

Bri: Then can we eat them?

Hannah showed up.

Hannah: Alyssa!

Alyssa: Hannah?

Hannah: What are you doing on my turf?

Alyssa: You're turf? Since when?

Hannah: Since now. (Marked the rock with her claws.) Oh. Did you forget to mark your turf for the dry season?

Alyssa: No! I, uh... (looks over her shoulder at Bri and Megan) Why didn't you bitches remind me to re-mark our turf?

Hannah: Too bad. Now you're in my territory. But you're welcome to past through if you'd like.

Alyssa: Pass through? Think I'd rather take it back!

Hannah: Have it your way!

Hannah jumps on top of Alyssa and while holding her down she kicks Bri and Megan away with her hind legs. Alyssa throws her off and pins her to the ground.
